Character Discussion Are Admirals>Yonkous as characters?

More well-written? Yes, kind of..
You can say that so far Kuzan, and Kizaru have slightly more complexities than the rest. But overall better as characters is first of all, subjective. For example, WB was supposed to be a larger than life legend, and that was perfectly conveyed in Marineford. You don’t have to see him developed — he‘s already a complete character and we just have to see the spectacle unfold with him at the center.
Same argument goes for a character like Kaido, he was never meant to be a deep character. He was designed to be this huge obstacle, and Oda conveyed his threat level perfectly. His feats already makes him compelling for some.

Anyway yes the Admirals are too good for Oda while the Yonko are poorly written trash. Even Whitebeard who was objectively the coolest Yonko was utterly ruined by the Oden flashback, Whitebeard’s backstory was Game of Thrones Season 8 level bad, it was so bad that it’s actually impossible to enjoy Whitebeard as he was presented pre timeskip now.
All of the Admirals are characters who go through their own character arcs, they change and grow as the manga goes on. Oda challenges their world views and puts them through hardships, he gives them views and ideologies and then challenges those views in his writing. He writes them with a nuance that is completely absent in the rest of this manga.
The Yonko are one dimensional unga bunga plot devices who have zero character growth or appeal outside of “look at how strong and free these characters are”. No one cares outside of low iq thirteen year olds.
Yeah the Yonko are some of the worst villains not just in One Piss but in all of Shonen, meanwhile the Admirals are among the most badass characters in all of manga. Thank god Oda plagiarized badass Japanese actors when he realized he wasn’t good enough to make the Admirals cool by his own merit, or I can’t imagine what kind of dogshit Garp wannabes would infest the Marines with their abhorrent presence.

I mean he had some development scenes that strengthen him and Riboku's bond, which could be set up for a masterpiece flashback for the two in the final Zhao campaign, who knows. But outside of that, not much going for him after Shukai.
