Can I say the mother isn't that bad? I mean, that baby does look like the devil
I mean yes he looks like the devil. But like sometimes a baby is born looking like some kind of monster because of a defect irl. Is it not that bad to throw the baby to its death then?

What about is it bad to, having failed to kill your son, concoct a prophecy to keep him ostracized?

I have a feeling that Estridโ€™s family background is relevant to the plot.

Intentionally hiding the name of โ€œProminent backgroundโ€, โ€œstudent of the earth wind artsโ€ and brought Asura horse, if anyone can narrow down who could that be?

Kaido's homeland = Vodka Kingdom

Estrida, Loki's Mom = Alcohol Village

Kaido is Loki's Brother intensifies

Zoro = alcoholic
Another Zoro parallel
:risisweat:
Zoro = demon = onigiri (oni)/asura
Kaido = demon = oni
Loki = demon = ancient giant/devil

:risicheck:
All three were raised away from their natural home.

All three are stronger than Luffy.

All three have getting captured by WG agents as a large part of their backstory (yes, I am calling Shanks a WG Agent)

Harald making love with Kaido's Mom and Kaido showing up in the Loki flashback that turned into a Harald flashback is fucking hilarious, PLZ ODA, PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

It's just a one week break, right???

Bruh I hope we get freed Loki before 2026, it's almost freaking July. We're halfway through the year.

Yes just one week
I guess this flashback will be ~7 chapters long
Oden's flashback was long, Kuma's too

Meanwhile during the events of this chapter,this was happening

I think and i hope we'll see what the hell there was behind the choice to make Loki and Lola marry,with a combined wedding. Big Mom was probaly trying to take advantage of Harald now being a better person.

I like Oda taking his time with flashbacks (I thought Kuma's went a bit too long, but overall it was so good I can't really complain), as long as the pay off is good (glares at Oden).

I am hoping we get back to Wano by the end of the year, though, especially since it looks like Teach attacked Marijoa.

I think 6-7 chapters is good for Loki's flashback. If Kaido does show up it in, then maybe more like 8 or 9.

It's entirely possible Oda uses this flashback to show us Linlin's history with the Giants, too, since that coincides with Harald's reign.

Now, I understand because of Estrid's upbringing and because of her beliefs in superstitions and omens and stuff that that is the way that she WOULD react, completely terrified, but it doesn't even cross her mind to try to make the baby "not evil" / raise him with love. She just condemns him immediately AND had decided to leave while saying that he had died due to being stillborn.

Despite Loki's demon-like eyes, he was still born healthy and strong looking - even has Haralad's horns, so for her, that was the only thing "wrong" with him. What's frightening is how heartless Estrid was towards her own child AND it just to happened that Harald was out of the country because I'm pretty sure he would've raised hell at her should she had sounded off like that though ... she's fairly smart. She probably would have found some other way to have Loki discarded I feel.

I feel really bad for Loki because he was only a baby and dealt such an awful fate shortly after being born. He is a NEWBORN BABY being rejected by his mother and trying to get back to her by climbing all on his lonesome not understanding a thing, but still wanting accepted / loved.

This has to be the worst start to childhood that anyone as ever had in the history of One Piece because I don't think Oda will be able to top this. Screw Estrid even though I can understand her initial recoiling due to her beliefs/upbringing as stated above. She is, without a doubt, the Worst mother.

Loki is the one who proposed to Lola though, not big moms usual MO
What I think most struck me was that ida reminded me of Lola. Both have that kind of simple but kind and down to earth vibe and are willing to put themselves in harms way for those they care about, even when they would surely lose. The slap she gave Harland reminded me of Lola refusing to run away from Moria and luffyโ€™s fight, or to attack him for Moria.

Thus I think Ida will play a big role in Lokiโ€™s backstory, and maybe will show him love even when he is a little shit and she isnโ€™t related to him. Thus I think whatever happened to her will be a major turning point not just for hajrudin and Harold, but for Loki. When mosa speaks about how Loki is kind but hides it, I bet that is something ida has said before. If sheโ€™s not dead she may be mosa as others have said. But I bet Hajrudinโ€™s hatred of his brother is also related to this, and some grand misunderstanding occurredx

Asura? :shocked: 5/5. Surprisingly, a great chapter despite how dry it initially seemed.

This could be one of them, as the island setting doesn't match Elbaph. It's too small. His Vivre Card names him as Urbain and states that he's guarding some treasure. I imagine it could be for a human's sake, as the non-Elbaph giant Ida was also helping humans.
That horse can't even run with that design.....

Big moms childhood was pretty sad too tbh idk why but out of all the backstories it got me bad. She was just a kid man she couldnโ€™t control it :whitepress:

You're right - it's true that she couldn't control herself and she had too much power at a young age. Awful combination. She was also dealt a bad hand which couldn't be fixed with love and acceptance as we see in the manga / anime because she un-intentionally destroyed those who loved and accepted her [ in her mind, at least ( Lady Caramel and the kids) ] and then Streussen just encouraged the worst sides of her which was all it took for her to further slide down hill.

Big Mom and Loki - pretty awful shit childhoods.
