Xebec being Blackbeard's dad is not that shocking, though must admit it feels a bit weird the way he stans for his father. Guess he is gonna mirror Ace in that he worships his dad while Ace resented/hated Roger.
Xebec being the first Admiral slayer is unexpected I will admit. Thought for sure his hype would come from killing the Gorosei that Ju Peter potentially replaced but hey, look forward to Oda fleshing said Admiral out a bit more and learning who they were etc
Always felt it a bit weird how we never learned about the Admirals of Sengokus generation beside him.
Yup, and anybody who questions nepotism-piece at this stage has got to stop with their denial of the stuff happening in the story, straight up.
NOBODY in this goddamn story is gonna end up a “TRUE” self-made man some people pray they are where they have neither some sort of lineage buff or OP trainers for support.
Every character of relevance in terms of sheer power at this point is either gonna be trained by somebody important, themselves genetic freaks of nature, or related to OP people.
This is just how Oda writes this story.
Every time the community goes "nah, not my goat, he is just HIM, no need for special circumstances" they legit set themselves up for failure.
Akainu is probably the son of either a famous Admiral, or perhaps Pirate if Oda wants to go for tragedy/irony with it, or he was at the very least trained by one of them.
Mihawk is Imus son/clone/creation whatever or some descendant of a family or race that fought alongside Imu, but he is certainly not just some guy who thought one day “you know what? I wanna be him, and the avenue by which I achieve that is being the best swordsmen in the world” with no grander reason behind it.
Anybody that is an a VAGUE position of overall power? Did not reach that shit by JUST their own effort. Oda does not write the story like this. Even Whitebeard, the goat himself, it probably gonna be revealed to have either been a Buccaneer or giant hybrid with relation to whatever hero in the past fought alongside Joyboy and Nika.
Any and ALL hope against this in my opinion died with the Elpaph mural once and for all.
Like, I am serious I feel sorry for you if you dislike this direction but if you stan a character for them being strong? 99% chance they are either a reincarnation or direct descendant of somebody in the past. That is just gonna be how it works.
