Controversial film but I can't deny that these two teaser posters are great

This is better:

I saw Kong: Skull Island on TV randomly recently. Good film, amazing visuals and CGI or w/e. Was really impressed by the action. Was kinda wild seeing John C Reilly, Brie Larson, Tom Hiddleston and Samuel L Jackson in it, felt like a weird offbrand MCU movie at this point lmao. It was especially hilarious seeing Samuel telling Brie to "shut up bitch" or whatever he said too, especially as all I could picture was Nick Fury saying it to Captain Marvel too lololol. I think him and Brie are close friends too which makes it even funnier naturally?

Giant monke was really cool,, I really like this role of Kong protecting the island and creatures on it, the other giant animals on it from those weird hostile, predatory creatures from below. It felt like a One Piece type story somewhat, I think that's why I liked it too.

It's not normally my type of film, something I'd watch but I'm glad I gave it a try. There was some endearing moments, it was quite a nice film just to sit back and chill with, nothing mindblowing, a little spectacular but all in all, a well rounded film. Some of the deaths were absolutely ridiculous in a comical, ragdoll way and really fucked with the tone of the film for me too, I kept wondering what kind of tone and genre the film was going for. It wasn't quite B-Movie but it felt like it wanted to be at times? It seemed to take itself pretty seriously but then it had these ridiculously, jarring, immersion ruining sudden extreme deaths like it turned into a B-movie horror or something.

But anyway thats just a nitpick and its a good film either way.

I can't remember what else I watched lately, I've barely watched films for a long time now but I'm desperate to see the new Naked Gun film, can't wait for that. I'm so sick of these shitty, soulless live action/ 3D CGI Disney remake films too.

Life of Chuck.

Man that movie moves and hits deep at the same time. Rarely I have seen a movie that can be funny, heartwarming and yet causing existential questions at the same time.

Tom Hiddleston doesn't act for much of the movie, but his scenes, especially the dance one are truly memorable.
Yeah it was a great movie

made me think about the Spielberg one

I personally like 2005 King Kong alot better but I do like the B movie vibe of this one, it's a fun romp

Aye, I never saw the Peter Jackson one but I really should given he did LOTR and such too ofc.
The game for the 2005 version looked really good, I wish I had tried it when I had the chance.

I'll give the 2005 film a try sometime for sure. Monkes are always fun especially giant ones. Maybe Peperlevi will finally get his wish after nagging me a 1000 times to watch Planet of the Apes too lmao.

I forgot to say I saw The Running Man, the Arnie classic ofc finally. Great film. Some brutal, shocking moments (pun not intended), Arnie was hilariously charming and badass as always especially with his one liners, the atmosphere was very grungy and bleak and truly captured that dysoptian hellish, future and the story was decent too.

I don't have a lot to say on it but it's a fun, entertaining film. Didn't blow me away but I love these death game type stories for some reason and this helpesd inspire a lot of modern ones I'm sure, so all the better for it too.

There's a new Running Man film coming out this year funnily enough, I think with Ryan Reynolds as the protagonist and some other big name actors maybe? Definitely gonna check that out ASAP, I'm hyped.

Killing Gunther is another, much more recent film by Arnie that also has him being hunted down by assassins trying to be the one to kill him and it was very darkly funny and wicked imo. Really enjoyed it, I wanna rewatch it as I saw it ages ago.

The game was hella fun! one of the best movie tie in games there is in my opinion. The new Running man has Glen Powell in it as the main star with Edgar wright directing

Sound of freedom: good movie. I think there aren't many things worse than pedophiles in this world. Maybe a little bit more violence towards them in the movie would have made it better. I understand they tried to stay realistic though.

Dune 2: also good. Denis Villeneuve confirms again that he's a great director, it's hard to make a blockbuster movie that feels different. He did it twice with Blade Runner 2049 and the Dune's movies.
Chalamet is also a good actor, he even made it believable for a guy that looks like a stick to beat a muscular man in a hand to hand fight.

Ah yes Glen Powell duh! I keep thinking Ryan somehow lmao.
With Edgar Wright onboard it should really be spectacular especially, I'd love to see what he does with his really creative, vibrant, energetic, slick etc style.

I'm not a fan of Michael Cera at all but he's in it, but also Josh mortherfucking Brolin is in it along with William H Macy, so that's awesomeness regardless.

Lee Pace a very pleasant surprise too, always fond of him due to the absolutely fantastic, charming, eccentric as hell, feel good and hilarious series Pushing Daisies, with him as the lead. Kristin Chenoweth who is in that is absolutely fucking incredible as a singer especially, she really steals the show in whatever she does.

I'll have to find and try that King Kong game I'm very curious and excited about it now. It seems like my kind of game actually.

I just rewatched the new Mario movie, the illumination animated one and still love it. My inner child and thus Nintendo fanboy for decades loved it especially.

Like the amazing new DK Bananza game, I'm loving the directions their IPs are going in but I'm terribly disappointed the new Zelda film will be live action. Hopefully it will be like LOTR or so but I'd prefer something like Skyward Sword tonally and in style, but I see it being more like OOT and Twilight Princess or especially like the BOTW games actually.
We'll see anyway, maybe it can pleasantly surprise somehow like the Mario movie did too.

K-pop Demon Hunters, Sony's new animation on Netflix.
Man, the movie is amazing. Another entry in the new animation standard that was recently born.
The Huntrix as a group of characters, the humor and the mix of genres, it all feels very real.
The movie is an excellent representation of pop culture, life in our modern world, and life in different parts of the world.
With this new standard of animation just beginning, this is a great time to be alive and young.

SUPERMAN (2025) - 4/5

Probably the best Superman movie there is apart from the 3 episode cross over event movie "Worlds Finest" in the OG Superman animated show. This film is great, a very timely film on hope and positivity and the inherent goodness that people can have. David Corenswet does a great job as the main character and this is probably now my fav live action version of the character but my fav in the film has to be Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor, dude kills it and he's so petty lol.

Goldeneye.

7/10.
The first and best of the Pierce Brosnan's James Bond series, the story is nothing exceptional and the action often over the top, but the visuals are amazing, and the movie has perhaps the best group of Bond villains with Alec, Xenia and Boris.
Goldeneye is great. I personally think that Tomorrow never dies is better
That good ?
Better than man of steel ?
Like Monster said, its two different takes on the character so I wouldn't go into this trying to compare it to Man of Steel because that is a tonally different film. This one is more true to the silver age version of superman and is more lighthearted and hopeful. Its a great film give it a chance.
