Just watched the Black Adam movie, it was WAY better than I expected on every single level, really blew me away. I actually was really happy, thrilled and overall entertained after watching it. Been a damn long time since a movie has entertained me that much AFAIK.
I'm too tired atm to do a more detailed list all the reasons I enjoyed it but it felt a LOT like 300 as a superhero movie with the incredible cinematography and thus action. Pierce Brosnan was phenomenally brilliant as Dr Fate and Hawkman looked amazing and really impressed me as in the actor himself too.
The soundtrack absolutely slapped, especially with the end credits song and the cast and writing were very likeable for me. I had extremely low expectations of it but ended up loving it!
The humour really made me laugh my ass off a few times too, very slapstick, comical but also dry, sarcastic humour, somehow a balance of deadpan and exaggerated slapstick throughout the film, I loved that.
Also the special effects were absolutely incredible, I really love how they depicted Dr Fate and Pierce would have made a fantastic uhhh Dr Strange, almost thought of Reed Richards there lol. Pierce really killed it as Dr Fate, with nuance, gravitas, wisdom, respect, coolness, poignancy etc. Cyclone was really cool too and felt like The Flash mixed with Aang's windbending or a wind logia user (TFW we get a wind devil fruit user in a DC movie and Fairy Tail before One Piece, SMH) and the way she fought and how they showcased her powers was, well you guessed it, brilliant, epic, incredible, I need more adjectives lmao.
I know it's an extremely hot take too but I actually really enjoyed The Flash movie when I saw it quite a while ago and Ben Affleck was very enjoyable as Batman in it, I love him playing this version of Batman and thus Bruce Wayne too. That movie also really pleasantly surprised me and Supergirl was pretty good and always nice to see a hot, strong woman kickass and be a superhero too.
I also saw the Postal movie, the one based on the games and directed by the absolutely, infamously, heinously awful director Uwe Bollocks I mean Boll and that was quite an "experience" I never want to relive lmao. Its on Youtube in full for those who wanna see it and suffer.
