Something we have to consider is that Teach never did anything evil to be evil. He always had a purpose. For him, the ends always justify the means. The reasons for his rampaging on Drum island are unknown but I am very sure we will find out some purpose behind it.

Imu on the other hand was and is portrayed as absolutely antagonistic. Directly or indirectly responsible for each and every arc of the series.

So the answer for me is clear. Teach and his crew are as redeemable as Croc and Mr 1 (and Mr 2 and Mr 3) are.

Imu and his zombie soldiers are not.

I am not sure what Oda will do of the thousands of CDs inhabiting Mary Joa.

I mean he does sell slaves.

Teach? His pirate island has a slave camp where he imprisons and sells slaves
As far as we know he only imprisons people and uses them as bargain chips, like he tried with Coby.

I doubt he has an "official license" to sell slaves like Doffy did. Especially considering that only CDs were the only ones that ever acquired slaves.

I am open to change my mind in case you can provide actual panels that state so

All this Nika bullshit, prophecy, poneglyph etc paints Imu as the final villain
Luffy is Joyboy but BB who isn't the man Roger was looking for beats him?
I don't really think so
Nothing changes
BB loses before laughtale and Imu after.
I don't think we are far away from the confrontation with BB.

regardless of anything else,

I don't know how Blackbeard not being the "the man Roger was waiting for" means anything in this discussion. It's only Luffy who Roger was waiting for, certainly Imu wasn't the man Roger was waiting for either.

Davy jones may be alive. Last we heard is that he was cursed to live in the bottom of the sea.
Still, I personally already drew the line at Imu for being the head of an organization that has been around the entire series. Davy Jones is so left field to me, especially because theres nothing setting that up outside of the concept of a Davy Back Fight and Robin's description of who he was.

Oda making that more meaningful and making him a character from the past? Especially one that Imu recognizes? Totally cool with it. Making him the actual villain of the story lol? Nah. That Kaguya levels of stupid.

I will always prefer pre-established entities or characters over something left field. Blackbeard is meant to be the pinnacle of Piracy. Imu is the goal beyond that but if somehow Blackbeard becomes the FV as a result of that, id prefer that over "Davy Jones" lol

Im just putting out the possibility. The origins of devil fruits are still unknown, and their connection to Davy jones is not unlikely

I think it's on purpose, one of things Oda dislike is being predictable, he is going back and forth on their hype to keep us guessing.

I will say IMU, 800 years of waiting for the drums of liberation is a lot of narrative wheight, the slaves weren't waiting for blackbeard to save them

Why is Roger waiting for Luffy?
To get the treasure and then beat Imu
How is Blackbeard gonna do that if he isn't joyboy?
Does he take the treasure first? Does Luffy beat Imu and then face BB? Does BB beat him without needing to reach Laughtale thus making the whole story pointless?

Imu so far

BB won't achieve his dream; He will be stopped like Xebec and fail like most villains in their standout arcs. WB has already said that Teach isn't him, and BB and his clowns won't achieve something that not even Joyboy could.

Maybe BB as a final fight, but Imu gonna be stronger, 2 reasons:
A) Even in this chapter, Xebec wanted to force with hostages to "defeat" imu, meaning he knew he was not nearly strong enough to even try
B) The whole prophecy and nika joyboy thign we didnt even the end about

Like Imu as a fake out villain/a stepping ladder to BB seems cap to me imo, but he could usurp him
