If BB really wants to form a crew like his father
He would get all the best pirates of his generation and that would be the warlords bar shanks

unfortunately I dont think that will happen .

I think the idea is that he's looking for a crew thats not likely to betray him, similar to Shanks and Luffy. The problem with these bigger pirates is they all have ambitions that are way too high, but I am curious in the backstories behind Teach's crewmates when we get to them.

One aspect Im hoping to see is more of the timeline 10 to 24 years ago. How Blackbeard's Impel Down crew became so infamous is a big question I have, because they are all around Teach and Laffite's age. Funny enough Auger, Doc Q and Jesus are younger. The rest had time in the world to make names for themselves and get arrested.

Who knows though, maybe thats CG's prerogative, to get Doflamingo and Weevil out of prison at least?

Likewise the obstacles/villains they come against will be even greater threats than what the roger pirates had to face.

I agree, the Impel Down ones getting replaced is a big reach. Teach getting control of the Seraphims is very likely though.
