The agenda on the color spread that came with latest One Piece chapter proves two things
The enormous hypocrisy of Sanji fans, and the receny bias of the community as a whole
What is this spread exactly going to portray, except for, very simply, the most important members of the Roger Pirates and the most important members of the Straw Hat Pirates? If anything, it doesnt' help Sanji agenda at all, as it depicts Rayleigh (Zoro's parallel) next to Roger (Luffy's parallel), while Gaban (Sanji's parallel) is depicted below both and far from both
In any case, I don't see anything here, just the top three Roger Pirates, and Luffy / Nami chilling as usual and Zoro / Sanji having their cringe relationship as usual
Buuuuuuuuuut let's go with agenda and say that this spread proves Sanji = Zoro because they are depicted side by side and what not
Then, going by the same reasoning, what do THESE MANY SPREADS prove?
1) Zoro and Luffy depicted as RIVALS WARY OF EACH OTHER, exactly like Sanji and Zoro in the 1156 spread
Note that Sanji is here, yet Oda portrays rivalry between Luffy and Zoro, not Zoro and Sanji
2) Zoro and Luffy LEADING THE CREW TOGETHER, AS EQUALS, everyone else is behind them, they lead the way, note that Sanji is here yet he is not paired with Zoro, he is behind Luffy and Zoro who are paired together and put in the absolute spotlight
3) Luffy and Zoro portrayed again as RIVALS WHO FIGHT ON PAR
(oh wait like it happened in the manga, in a serious fight of two entire chapters, not a gag of one single panel)
4) Luffy and Zoro at the center of the crew, with the entire crew gathered
5) Luffy and Zoro portrayed as the absolute center of the crew AGAIN
6) Last but not least... Zoro is EXPLICITLY portrayed as the N2 of his group
Meaning that he is undesputably > Sanji who is N3 (some would say N4 but let's put that aside for the moment)
So what's the hypocrisy and the recency bias?
Like it or not, Zoro has much more shared portrayal with Luffy than he has with Sanji
There are much more Luffy-Zoro side-by-side panels that Zoro-Sanji side-by-side panels
There is a Luffy-Zoro dynamic as captain and N2 and a Zoro-Sanji dynamic as N2 and N3
Luffy > Zoro > Sanji
