A bit random but remember how some One Piece fans and Kaido fans kept saying that once we get the Rocks flashback that is when we will see more of Kaido's past, and that the flashback with Rocks will really help Kaido's character.

They kept using the Rock's flashback as an excuse to defend Kaido's garbage flashback.

Well we are now really deep into this whole Loki/Harald/Rocks flashback.

So how are things with Kaido looking?

The issue with Kaido is that for some stupid reason, Oda decided to not actually dive into his Oni lineage. He was taken for experimentation and sent to Punk Hazard, meets Alber there and they escape.

Kaido's FB largely should have answered:

- What Oni are
- Gave more depth on Oni and Lunarians
- How Queen actually was met and his hatred for VP
- How the rest of the Beast Pirates formed

Like Doflamingo got this, even Big Mom got a large chunk of her childhood shown at least. I have no idea why Oda is hiding this info on Kaido/Yamato. Maaaaaaybe Yamato's cover story addresses it, but I doubt that at this point.

Which sucks because it ideally needed 20 more chapters to have its payoff done right:

- Awakenings for the 2 Yonko were deserved
- Kaido deserved a 2-3 chapter flashback, not half of 1
- The actual climax after the fight needed another 4-5 chapters of closing. We are now getting that semi-shoehorned in Yamato's cover story.

Wano isnt my favorite, but these things made it worse imo

the oni stuff will likely be addressed soon. kaido is probably still alive honestly. they might be an ancient giant/human hybrid race like the regular giants and humans have hybrid races
