Roger started the fight with xebec not the other way around rocks wanted to save his family he had no time for roger

and it was literally stated in the chapter that roger along with garp fought rocks and his crew to protect the world nobles slaves so nobody is pushing it

And considering that imu can turn people into demons rocks could've been domi reversi'd causing roger and garp to 2v1 him

Oden is a dogshit character and Kuma's flashback was just constant misery porn with no breaks, it was like a parody of crybaby backstories especially with hilarious scenes like this.

So far Xebec's tale has been way more entertaining to follow than the trash that came before.

What you find uninteresting, boring, is up to you. His writing objectively is consistent and well written for the short stay of his character.

I don't care for Newgate, Doflamingo, and many fan favorite characters, and borderline could careless if they existed in this series or not. So I'm not the one to tell people what they can like or not.

Can't see it tbh. Only logic behind this matchup is Garling wanting to win Shakky as price but that's everybody on God Valley.
Garling is simply an attractive matchup to folks coz he's strong. However Garling's role on God Valley is far bigger than Shakky. He potentially has ties to the capture of the Davy Clan, also the Shanks/Shamrock plot line, Whitebeard in addtiion to being the so called Champion of God Valley. Ray v Garling imo is far-fetched but I digress.

All of them have that objective

The difference is that Ray is the one who actually got Shakky, and Garling is not only the one who came up with the idea to kidnap her, but the one who would have most likely got her, since he was the champion of God Valley.

They are the two most connected character on this.

His writing objectively is trash awful, the most boring, unintresting, plain nonsense Oda has ever come up with.

That's why Oden is not liked as some you have mentioned.

I always love to bring this flashback to compare. Norland and Calgara.
Both died without knowing what happened to the other. Calgara lost his homeland, Norland died as a liar and remained so.
That's real tragedy.
We readers know the truth. Cricket eventually learned the truth with Luffy's aid.
We can only HOPE Calgara and Norland's spirits got closure.

But the story leaves it to us.

Instead of thinking his audience grew up, Oda decided to shift gears into making it even more "hand holding" with Wano.

I'm perfectly fine with people that liked Wano.
I didn't. Felt cheap. One Piece never felt as cheap.
