Just my opinion but it would a hell of a tragedy if Imu somehow manages to possess Rocks to make him go mental and thats why Roger and Garp had to team up.

Seemingly, the WG is having a battle currently on 2 fronts and what I would love personally is see the arc play out where some Holy Knights are on Elbaf for Imu and the rest are fighting the Revolutionaries in Mariejoa.
Mainly given things stated this arc, I do hope Shamrock in the least returns since he straight up tells Loki to come find him when he's free.
But even then the opportunity to parallel Dragon fighting Garling and Luffy fighting Shamrock would be cool, the latter given the fact that him looking like Shanks would cause some conflict.
Idk how I feel about Gunko because even though its Imu technically, Oda generally have Luffy wail on women especially victims. I dont see how this fight becomes at all that serious or "good" given that. Plus, at worst Imu loses her and doesnt get resolved clearly.
Just how I feel about this arc currently.

Probably going to be Rocks seeing his wife and kid getting taken away and trying to get to them but having too many enemies to get past and Imu takes advantage of that by trying to convince him to make a deal with him to amp his power and give him the strength and speed to bulldoze them and get his family back

I hear you and you make a good point on Shiki v Ray with regards to the bolded bit, but it doesn't really feel special given his relationship with Shakky. Shiki doesn't really have as much weight in this plot line as Ouchoku does.
Defeating one of the gooners fighting to claim Shakky vs Defeating the one who kidnapped her in the first place?
Narrative-wise I feel if Oda intends to give Ray some sort of special achievement on God Valley he has to be the one that takes out Ouchoku.
Also although I don't think Ouchoku is as strong as Shiki, he's one of the named pirates in Rocks flashback and also a significant stepping stone for Blackbeard with regards to him becoming a Yonko and also claiming Hachinosu for himself. He's clearly not weak.
Perception that is weak is simply coz he doesn't have a cuul design but he's clearly not.
That said, I'm not saying Ray has to fight him to extreme diff either.
Can't see it tbh. Only logic behind this matchup is Garling wanting to win Shakky as price but that's everybody on God Valley.
Garling is simply an attractive matchup to folks coz he's strong. However Garling's role on God Valley is far bigger than Shakky. He potentially has ties to the capture of the Davy Clan, also the Shanks/Shamrock plot line, Whitebeard in addtiion to being the so called Champion of God Valley. Ray v Garling imo is far-fetched but I digress.

People need to remind themselves what happened to Saturn when he fucked up. Garling was promoted at least 2 times after God Valley which means he succeeded in whatever gave him the Champion title, and didn't disappoint Imu.
If Garling vs Rayleigh happens over Shakky then Ray ends up in the dirt with a scar.
