I didn't like It becuase, as I said, I don't like the Idol concept and much less the repulsive idea of the whole word simping Shakky (as a super Idol).
There Is not an incoherence in a strict sense, there Is not a logical conundrum, at least not really: there are simply ideas and plot we like or not like and this was absolutely terrible, for me.

Fortunately, the rest of the plot was very good.

At least you recognize it's not about the quality of the plot but the idea itself. It's fair.

If for quality you mean the coherence, sure. There Is not a problem of "consistency" here, It's not like when were are told X and then we are told Y.

This is only a matter of "substance": if we think the whole idea is good or bad in itself.
The reason for GV in the end wasn't really Shakky, at least not all, but the same role could have been filled by another "treasure" of some kind. A DF, hell even just a "normal" treasure. We would have liked It more or less?

It's up to anyone to evaluate what idea would have been better, more up to the task, according to one's tastes.

I surely didn't like the whole Shakky plot, but the rest was very good so overall this Is still a great FB.

Nothing. I like it. It's filled with interesting characters and details.

People complain way too much and have no patience anymore.

If Ohara flashback happened in the 2020s people would call it "boring", "fraud scholars", "where is Luffy", "it's taking too long", "filler" etc.

Shutup and enjoy the show as long as it lasts. One Piece spoilers and chapter discussions won't be a thing in the 2030s. :josad:

I don't really care what the fulcrum is for this event as much as what actually happens in the event itself

This is really all due to Garling's actions though, Garling initiated the hunt here of all places, but he also brought shakky as the prize.

He set the stage and indirectly the lure for these different factions to coalesce in this one place.

What's interesting to me is, since rocks and rogers goals align, why wouldn't they work together to fight off the marines and god knights to save shakky, and then rocks can also save his family too?

in 1096 we see god valley from another perspective and the dialogue says "wait, rocks!" and then "out of my way, roger!"

So maybe Roger initially teaming with Rocks, then something happens, and Roger tries to get in Rocks way to stop him from doing something, and that's how they end up fighting?

Some people have already speculated multiple things, like rocks seeing his wife get killed, dragon somehow being the focus of his anger and by extension the twins.

No, we wouldn't, because Ohara 1. makes sense in relation to Robin's character; and 2. in that flashback characters act like people, not as degenerate fetish creations.

Yeah like some people give the example of older fights being better, and ok, what older fights, and they go Enies Lobby and Marineford

And for me it's like, how do Ennies Lobby and Marineford compare to a 50 chapter long epic gigantic fight in Wano with two emperors and yonko commanders?

I didn't really care especially for Marineford, but Gear 5 Luffy made me cry on the spot when I saw it

And yes Xebecs is there for another reason but then why include Shakky? She's literally not needed. I could make up 50 other narrative decisions to get the rocks pirates, roger pirates and garp on there. 1 of them being garp pulls up wherever Roger is anyways.

This entire arc Roger just looks like a bum with no ambitions and just gooning. Yes, Xebecs still looks good but this shakky sht is just unnecessary. Nobody asked for her nor is she needed in this story. If you remove her from this arc NOTHING changes except the fact this thankfully isnt goon piece anymore.

And all these braindead fans saying "pirates are horny its totally logical youre just a hater" sums up why One Piece is still popular even with sht superficial writing like this. OP fans have 0 standards and are on the same level as demon slayer or other big mainstream manga.

I mean the whole plot story seems useless to me now. This is not something an author of such a long series should do as he wants.
These things need better setups and story.
Everything is just random new information.
Nobody cares about the D Families, the Davy Families, the Buccaneers nor the CD Clans..because they were never shown..
The Davy thing he is jusst using the Hype created by Pirates of Carribean Honestly, Also we know he is going to Retcon him, I remember Davy Jones initally being some kid or something maybe I am mis remembering. Then in SBS he was a old fart. No way anyone can see him as a legend unless Retcon. And that ain't gonna work.
Relying on hype...and evenn that hype is pretty much pathetic.


Very disappointed with the author. But its been many years now and I already know he is a very bad writer just got lucky due to initial plot. After that we could see he ain't got no skills. Makes sense its the only shit he ever wrote and earlier the Editor did a lot heavy lifting.
