Again, look at japan consent and japan work culture. Men kill themselves there over not being successful or overworking. Japan does not regularly punish Pedophiles, they even go back to work in industries they worked in.

Add those things together and you get the answer to why Oda considers Wakatsuki his friend, as he basically enabled his manga career. This does not mean hes a pedo simp or supports Wakatsuki's behavior. We arent mind readers here, which I give the author benefit of the doubt even though I dislike Japanese culture around these things.

Now if that still bothers you, then frankly I dont know why you and other people are still here talking about this series.

I had a thought about Harald. When it was first seen, I was very curious how a Abyss mark was in his throne room. Also, Sommers seeing schools and libraries and saying Harald "messed up" also sounded odd.

Now that we know there are ranks to the HK and Harald was one, I think I may have a better guess of what happened.

I think the day he died, Harald was going to be promoted from at least Shallow to Deep, but someone (a Gorosei?) saw his works and ordered Harald to dismantle those institutions, bur he refused. So his mark DR'd him so he would be forced to do it himself. But Loki killed him before he could do so.

Good theory! At the end of the day, Harald submitted to the WG as a means to an end, he never wanted Elbaf to be Imu's battle slaves but the exact opposite of why the WG wants Elbaf.
