Might be the mix of multilayered sarcasm and brutal honesty, sometimes back to back without giving the other person the chance to see which is which. But that's just kinda how I talk. French are seen as more arrogant somehow which can be true or false. And also it might be influenced by Americans who believe their biggest foe in NATO are the French for many reasons for instance leaving NATO during the Iraq war. It’s not a very sociologically peer-reviewed paper take BUT it’s a quick opinion yes.
They have been talking about having their Big Tech for a while now. I doubt this is happening fast. It’s alright to have their own Big Tech companies but I don’t want another jackass trillionaire just with a French flag. I mean I wouldn’t be entirely in favour but I would vote yes I guess.

I doubt it's fear tactics. It's actually a rising concern and populist demands in many of European countries to make the shift.

That makes sense unfortunately. The British also overtly hate the French but they love going to France and their food and women lmao. Bunch of hypocritical tsunderes.
