I get the intent, but I just think it's a little much. Surely Kuzan, Sakazuki etc noticed that he wasn't *that strong*. Maybe secretly warlord level, sure. But assuming he's Yonko level because he argued with Shanks or talked to Whitebeard is a little...much

Yeah, that's the forced part in the sense there should have been situations in which people should have noticed. But tbh, the manga Is full of those instances.

I remember arguing back in the day (around chapter 700) with people who believed the WG knew Buggy was a fraud, when tbh for me It was clear they didn't and that was Oda's plan. As of now, the only people who know about Buggy are those with personal connections with him.

If one accepts that the world thinks of Buggy as Shanks 2.0, It's natural that he + Mihawk + Croco + their organizations were chosen. Hell, they are far stronger than the BP or the BMP.

Also, I am quite ready for Buggy son of Xebec.

I think he has a point tbh. Buggy making it to a warlord is funny and somewhat makes sense, but him becoming a Yonko without any notable subordinates except for 2 is a bit much,ngl.

And accordingly, Oda hasn't really done much with CG, because he's not really taking it that seriously.

CG is such wasted potential. The only way to save them is for CG to recruit the Katakuri Pirates. Maybe then they can be an actual Yonko crew instead of just 2 strong guys and a few thousand fodder

They haven't had the opportunity to do anything, though. Crocodile's growth has not been displayed, yet. He could be far stronger than Lucci for all we know.

I'd also add that Daz Bonez could probably being positioned as a grower like Crocodile. His original bounty wasn't that far away from Croc's. And Oda went out of his way to shoe-horn him into Marineford's events. The two of them could easily be revealed as the "YC1"/"YC1+" and "YC2" of the crew in terms of strength respectively. That existing strength could be solidified further with the addition of a single Warlord like Moria. Lots of head canon but the ingredients are there to make something happen.

That's just a general problem with the manga, though. If you hyper focus your attention on any 1 character or group, even including non-Luffy Straw Hat, you will notice serious neglect. This shit's too bloated. We gotta come to terms with the fact that not every entity is going to be fully fleshed out and that strength growths won't ever be fully justified on-panel. Characters will just start doing shit we don't expect them to be capable of doing out of nowhere.

I'm genuinely surprised there are so many people still interested in OP. Arcs are too long, the focus on Luffy/Nika is excessive, the strawhats are useless, there is no tension if nobody important ever dies. The usual issues.

With some small tweaks,

1) Law, Marco,Kidd, Vegapunk, Kuma and Sabo died
2) ZKK happened and Zoro had a second flashback
3) Sanji got an actual power up (transformation or the Phoenix Suit) and fought King and Kizaru
4) Franky met his father and did something during Egghead
5) the other strawhats were not sidelined by random samurai or pirates and did much more
6) People stopped mentioning Nika every other chapter
7) fake cliffhangers were drastically reduced
8) the last 5 arcs combined lasted 100-150 fewer chapters

I really believe we would be in much better shape. And so would CL⁴⁰oda

CG is 3 RPs behind the other Yonko crews, and it’s hard to even see how they could catch up atp. They have no way of knowing that Zou has a RP, and they would have to invade Wano and WCI to get the other 2. If Oda went with my Katakuri joining CG theory, they could kill 2 birds with one stone (getting a RP and gaining much needed firepower). Not sure how they could get the Wano RP though. Even if they were capable of invading Wano, they’d have no way of actually finding the location of the RP since not even Kaido could find it after 25 years.

What’s gonna happen is that Oda is gonna manufacture some ridiculous, lame gag excuse for how CG can manage to “keep up” with the other Yonko crews.

it really has nothing to do with nika stuff, since this forum was never about story analysis.

the most important characters to this specific fandom are: zoro, admirals, shanks, mihawk. Since those characters are unimportant right now, nobody cares.
