Should Dark Knight Sanji get a temporary threadban after Elbaph is over as punishment?

  • No. He deserves to be perma'ed out of here. Time to purge this place. HAO's next.

What is logical about Sanji's genetic modifications having a one and off switch?

There is no logic to it.

More importantly, there is no evidence for it.

I posted the panels multiple times. Sanji demonstrated the same kind of speed and resilience without the flip.

You're the ones going off conjecture and feeling, not evidence.

Perhaps y'all just want to believe Sanji can dog walk a Seraphim without "turning on" those enhancements while his captain and counterpart are faring considerable worse in 2v1s.

It's a nice thought, but that's all it likely is.

Sanji has been in a heightened emotional state every time the flips happen. That doesn't mean anger and only anger.

He hasn't been in a heightened emotional state every time he demonstrated the speed or exoskeleton.
Sanji was pretty calm aura farming against s-shark imo getting hit

Heightened emotions doesn't have to mean he's losing his mind. It doesn't even have to mean anger. I think when he protected Bonney from Kizaru, he wasn't moving off anger, he was moving out of love.

We know how Sanji gets about Nami in particular.

He doesn't lose control but he gets angry.

He was angry at the cat when it was after Nami, so the eyebrow was flipped.

He wasn't angry when he hit it again, and the eyebrow was normal and stayed normal in the volume release.

Sure bit in that scene its usual sanji who always wears his heart up his sleeve.
Could be a oda inconsistency but by that logic to me he should have his eyebrow flipped, including this chapter prior tot the attack as he upsets that NPCham is a racist
Sanji feeling emotions doesn't mean he's in a heightened emotional state every time, or to the degree where the flip happens.

Clearly there are levels to it.

Notice how he threatened to break Killingham's helmet, not take his fucking life.

do me a favor and start posting these image spams in spoiler tags so it doesn't fuck up mobile users. ty.

Yes? but you are trying to make a claim with "this when and when sanjis eye brows flip", proclaiming there is a pattern
If your criteria is arbitary so is the whole thing
The pattern is in the heightened emotions being present when the flip is present.

Do you think Sanji tanked Nusjuro’s bite without his exoskeleton?

Do you think Oda missed the correction in volume release of 1129 even though he’s answered several SBS (7, 84 and 105) questions about it and is aware fans are paying attention?

Is there any logic to Sanji’s CHANGED GENETICS gives him permanent super speed but NOT the rest like his exoskeleton, muscles or healing ability?

It’s like y’all can’t keep more than one piece of evidence in your minds at once.

Look at the TOTALITY OF CONTEXT already.

Which is why I always assume he's using IJ.
Is just his new possible fire with exoskeleton and CoA.

There's 0 need for DJ if he can just use IJ with no repercussion.

0 need to search for lightning or eyebrows.

BUT, the eyebrow switch is kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinda iffy.
if his modifications can't be turned on/off, why dafuq do they eyebrows switch?
guess that germa plot aint over.

Know what that means?
:pepebusi:

As far as I remember, not once did Sanji use a named DJ move after he upgraded to IJ in wano, lightning included in the attack or not. It's pretty clear now that we won't be seeing DJ ever again.

Also there was no mentioning of his physical augmentation to ever disappearing after his eyebrow flips back to normal, it's just us readers who assumed so, thinking it be some kind of super saiyen transformation that he enters whenever he desires. Now thinking back on it, it looks more likely that it's permanent with the exception of his eyebrow for some as of yet unexplained reason, PoL related obviously.

It's not 100% confirmed ofcourse, we only need to clearly see him once use the exoskeleton without his eyebrow flipping for confirmation, though thinking back on it we saw him use lightning IJ with normal eybrows on eventhough it's established that the exo is what facilitated it's use for him, so that could also be considered confirmation.

I don't know where you get off accusing me of ignoring shit when I'm the only one in this thread looking at the entirety of context, not cherry-picking what suits me.
Broski you gotta taking the piss.
Main difference between Sanji and his siblings aesthetically was the eyebrows which was an indication that Sanji's super genes hadn't been awakened yet. When he awakened his genetic abilities on Wano his bloody eye brows flipped serving as a visual indication of is gene awakening.

This is SBS 105 with Oda telling us the obvious.

D: My question is about Sanji's eyebrow. In volume 102, chapter 1031, Sanji's eyebrows were reversed, but in volume 103, chapter 1044, they're back to normal. Why did they change back? P.N. Rooftop

O: You noticed it well. Yes, his eyebrow does change. Going back to the Whole Cake Island Arc, all of Sanji's siblings were born with superhuman abilities and strong skin called an "exoskeleton", due to the Lineage Factor manipulation performed on them. However, only Sanji was born as a normal human due to his mother's resistance. Look at his brothers and sister's eyebrows.

Since Wano Sanji seems to be able to voluntarily change the shape of his eyebrows with the shape of his eyebrows taking the Germa shape when is using Ifrit in particular which computes as Ifrit was born from Sanji combining his armament with his exoskeleton.
- Sanji's eyebrows were in the Germa shape when he defeated Queen with his super abilities.
- Sanji's eyebrows were in the Germa shape when he attacked Luffy alongside Franky and Bonney in that gag scene on Egghead
- Sanji's eyebrows were in the Germa shape when he attacked the Cat/Lion beast to save Nami alongside Luffy and Zoro at the start of the Elbaf arc.

Then there's situations were Sanji is manifesting the exoskeleton in which he has his eyebrows flipped.
This was the case when he blocked S-Shark's punch

So it doesn't really take a genius to figure out that Sanji's eyebrows change when he's manifesting his Germa abilities.

The examples you posted are very speculative.
For instance the example you gave with Sanji destroying Road's net alongside Zoro was not named so it's not obvious that he's using Ifrit Jambe. Even the example you gave with Nasujuro biting Sanji and him not showing any notable physcial damage in the panels after is not really clear either. Even if Sanji was not using the exoskeleton in that moment, he posseses enhanced healing abilities in Germa mode so all it'd take to heal that bite damage is to switch back into his germa mode and he'd be as good as new.

To go even a step further we have panels of Sanji attacking S-Shark with his eyebrows filpped and not and there is a clear difference in showings in both cases. He absolutely shit stomped S-Shark with his eyebrows flipped.

So this notion that there is no evidence for Sanji's eyebrows flipping when he's in a Germa mode is asinine.

Again the eyebrow flip serves as a visual indicator that Sanji is using his exo abilities which is a good ting as it tells the users when he's using it and ths is a common theme in fiction in general. There are visual indicators to tell the viewers that a character is using a particular form. Is the case in DBZ with the super saiyan forms and Gohan's ultimate form. Same with Luffy's Gears and Zoro's Ashura.

If there are a few scenes where Sanji seems to be using his exo abiltiies without his eyebrow flipped then it is most likely a drawing goof from Oda or his team.

The notion that you think Sanji's eyebrows simply flip based on mood is more logical than the above is insane to me.

There's also one thing I think folks are missing here. You lot that think the eyebrows switching don't indicates switching in and out of Germa mode, do y'all think Sanji is always in Germa mode? Coz if so how do you think Sanji navigates a potential Black Maria type siutation in the future or Nami smacking him?

You think Sanji who cannot even activate his haki to block a punch from a woman out of fear of hurting her would be okay mentally fi his exo is active 24/7?

I do think that i just dont think its not a requreiment for IJ :sanmoji: member oda also said sanji has a iniate ressitance to flames in that sbs way before germa awakening, and it implied it can grow

Yes he does and that's been the case since baratie like I and I'm sure others have already pointed out on here several times but according to Sanji himself on Wano, his resistance has it's limits.
IJ came about as a result of exo + haki giving Sanji the required resistance to be able to endure the heat from his blue flames no?
With the execption of last chapter's panel in all of the panels where Sanji references Ifrit Jambe with his attack his eyebrows are flipped no?
So don't really understand the "Sanji doesn't need exo to use ifrit anymore" argument
Yes it is possible that Sanji's resistance to his heat is able to grow but that's not something that Oda can just drop in willy nilly without any build up or explanations. Like I already said in one of my prior posts if every panel on Elbaf where Sanji used Ifrit his eyebrows weren't flipped then you could mount a stronger argument for that but that hasn't been the case.

It's cartoon logic and one piece gag logic lol. The same with Luffy getting hurt when nami hits him eventhough he's rubber.

Anyway, I think Sanji using IJ in normal eyebrow mode 😂 is a good indicator that the germa modifications are a permanent thing as that's what initially allowed him to use IJ in the first place.

All we need is Oda confirmation either way, all we have is speculations at this point

The SBS just killed any doubt about the eyebrow switch not being tied to his buffs being active in his body honestly.

Whether he is using IF or DJ is another discussion. We have seen Sanji use what it seems to be IJ when his eyebrows were normal this arc, and yeah it could be a mistake from Oda or it could mean Sanji's CoA is getting tougher, and btw Oda didn’t care to show us his eyebrows when he kicked Killingham, despite the text being clear he used IF so it wouldn't leave us any doubt, but wouldn't it be more aproppriate to show the eyebrow so we could say "oh yeah IJ requires all the boost thus the eyebrows are different". So could that be another mistake here? Should it have been DJ against Killingham? Idk... that would be too many mistakes

So what you’re saying is if we put Elbaf Sanji in Wano Sanji’s position where he got beat to a pulp by Black Maria her fists will get decimated & Sanji will have no choice coz of his germa mods?

Oh! I’m not sure why I thought Sanji was shown using IJ without his eyebrows flipped here. Thanks for clearing that up just checked ^^. On your question though I don’t think it’s necessary for Oda to zoom in on the eyebrows every single time as it’s already implied. Again IJ came about as a result of his exo buff. If anything has changed there Oda will tell us .

with regards to mistakes, Oda makes them almost every volume. Iirc he’s even forgotten Luffy’s scar before lol

Plus Oda is very lazy, I can legit see him shafting not fixing the so called Ifrit panel Rumble was going on about coz it wasn’t explicitly named
There’s honestly no way to tell otherwise.
For example the attack Sanji used on Kiringham this chapter with the flashing effect, he used against Judge on WCI
(Not concasse per say but the effect)
