As ever, the problem with that pipeline is how badly Israel wants to be intertwined with both Jewish identity AND American exceptionalism (such as it is these days); supporting them means you’re not only a friend of the Jews, but you’re making a selfless sacrifice for the good old US of A by electing corporate shills who are more than happy to use someone else’s money for war and destruction. Don’t get me wrong - first and foremost, I resent this country above all others for driving the bus directly into a fucking wall, but I can’t sit here and pretend like Israel isn’t a fully active player here, they’re getting EXACTLY what they want with comments like what Graham said.

I’m perfectly fine with being taxed, I just want that money to go to shit like healthcare or social services, things that actually improve quality of life in my community…more and more, my government is stealing the money I worked to earn so they can line their own pockets or pay for a war I am completely against, there is no real representation for most of the country anymore.

US spends 17% of GDP on healthcare. I think it's the highest in the world.
As far as taxes are concerned, Let's assume USA population is 330 million.
Only 50 % of people file income tax returns, which means 160 million file income tax returns.
Out of this 160 million, only 50-60% actually pay income tax that is - only 90-100 million people out of 330 million population pay income tax.
And, out of these 90-100 million people actually paying income tax, top 5% (richest) pay 61 % of income tax.
Without taxes, universal healthcare isn't possible
