This shit had me rolling 🤣
Fair play 👏🏿
Banter aside 🫂 what’s your current take on the holy knights? Still think they are threat worthy of being opponents for the wings? Personally I’m not necessarily against wings v Holy Knights if characters of Shamrocks caliber are introduced into the story. Holy Knights with deep seals but capable of using CoC for example (assume Shamrocks is gonna be like that). Anything short of that isn’t going to be challenging enough imo.
I think so far Oda has undermined the Holy Knights more than he has hyped them, but I'm reserving final judgment for the end of this arc.

Elbaph started off strong, but it's been kinda thin and rushed since the Rocks flashback began. It's really been a steady sequence of middling execution of good concepts.

It's a shame God Valley turned out so disappointing. Best we can hope for now is the anime making a meal of it.

Oda has shown every single WG-affiliated character in one way or other in a humilating way, be it the regular CDs, Aramaki who loves them, Imu himself, the Gorosei, the HKs and so on, the only exception (so far) being Shamrock

Wonder if its on purpose @PuckTheGreat

Even humiliating them is fine by me, but it's all about context.

I've never had an issue with Shanks effectively intimidating/humiliating Aramaki from a distance. He's an Emperor. The story has always been clear on the fact they are orders of magnitude stronger than Admirals. Shanks projecting his strength that effectively was all the more impressive because the strength of Admirals was established as overwhelming to 99% of pirates, which Aramaki also demonstrated.

Likewise, I don't think any less of Garling for getting stomped by Rocks on God Valley. Rocks was certainly Emperor level already at that point.

I do think it's a shame he didn't at least get to show off by racking up some quick wins against other pirates. Rocks humiliating him and others would be more impressive and interesting if it had come after we got to see Garling and the Knights demonstrating relatively overwhelming strength against all but a handful of pirates.

None has been quite like the HKs tbh but it's somewhat understandable given they are Celestial Dragons.
That said, the ones that are supposed to be strong will be strong.

Don't really agree that all WG-affiliated characters are humilated. Just think Oda has a tendency to have fun with the goofy types and Yonko themselves are not excluded from that.

If Oda is humiliating a character that is not of that type then they are prolly not as strong as they are percieved to be.

Admiral hype still remains untainted for the most part. Greenbull ting was unfortunate for him coz of Red lol but he was a dickhead so he got what he deserved.

On the HK though, I really do think there is a strong possibilty now that we see some stronger HKs in the near future.

Was convinced the Gorosei were going to descend on Elbaf but with Sanji showing disbelief about how underwhelming the HK are I feel like the narrative is leaning in the direction of somewhat slavaging their hype. Whether Oda is gonna have Shamrock do that by his lonesome or introduce some more character of his calibre not quite sure.

This is not an excuse btw.
Doesn't matter how strong Rocks was, if a character is of a particular pedigree they will be able to hold their own against him.
A young WB was able to hold his own against DR Xebec for example.
Base Loki was able to hold his own against HK Harald.
Zoro and Sanji are able to hold their own against top tiers.
Garling was a weaking relative to the big names of that time. It's that simple.

Garling doesn't need an excuse for getting stomped by an Emperor level fighter because I never assumed or expected him to be a challenge to anyone on or close to that level, which GV Whitebeard was.

It makes no sense comparing him to Loki, who was born with special eyes and extremely powerful.

Zoro and Sanji would not be able to hold their own against Emperors. They'd get stomped in seconds as well.

Garling only managed to hang in there because of immortality.
