General & Others Are we happy with the Narutozation of OP?

Fucked up eyes, reincarnations, ancient people becoming main villains, from small and simple to gods fighting each other.
- Mihawk has the same eyes, 1998 character.

- Will of D. was theorized as reincarnation when everyone and their mother thought Luffy was essentially a Roger. Year 2000 concept. It being literal through Devil Fruit is pretty original id say?

- Ancient People and Gods being main villains is not a naruto concept. Blame all of Japanese media since ever

One Piece was always more about the "Grand Adventure" and built up the "Will of D" and "Void Century" mysteries early on in the series. But the "Fate" and "Chosen One" are the things that people hate. We had people made of Sand in a Desert as the first big arc in the Grand Line and a guy made out of Lightning.
I mean it was evident very early on when Shanks gave Luffy Roger’s hat. I just didn’t expect it to be this deep. The fruit change is what I think got people but there were hints to that too. Luffy was the only paramecia with transformations.

I think it is not as bad as with Naruto. Imu still falls within the established framework. Ancient guy due to immortality, but his power is still based on a Devil Fruit, he is introduced with an apparent weakness spilling blood upon arrival, being tormented by Joyboy and Davy Jones' incarnations as per his own words, rules for 800 years but can't achieve his perfect world yet.

It's not like with Naruto, where suddenly a planetary level alien appears that can instantly neg diff the entire world and one power creep replaces the next.

The power level difference between Juubi Jinchuriki and even more so Kaguya and the next big shots (Hashirama) is astronomical, but much less so with Imu compared to the Yonko.

The fact ancient weapons play a crucial role already shows that power levels won't be creeped out entirely, or else Imu's and Luffy's power level alone would be enough.

The Ancient Weapons will power creep enough to make Big Daddy Saran use 5% of his power.

naruto went from dark, edgy to wholesome melodramatic slop. one piece went from funny wholesome to more violent and edgy, still funny, maybe even more so but in a twisted way. for example gert ripping sommers apart and watching how his body reattaches, comparing it to magnets. even though he regenerates, i think he feels the usual amount of pain. naruto would have been better if itachi and gaara stayed psychopathic murderers and didn't turn into saints.
Oh yeah din't Garra murder a whole lot of people in the Chunin Exams and nobody ever mentioned that ever again?

If OP was just brute strength it will be a copy 9f baki, ippo, etc.

It if was magic, a copy of fairy take, black clover, etc.

If it was aliens, a copy of naruto, jjk, etc.
It will always be a copy

Tbf there are definitely more similarities with naruto as just like it needed indra and asura equivalents to defeat kaguya , it will take luffy and BB to beat imu most likely. Then just like there is reincarnation in naruto show -- asura - Hashirama -naruto , same is there in case of one piece - nika - joyboy - luffy.

Naruto, to me, is just some roadkill to be swerved.

The more recent One Piece developments? Not my direction at all. I guess in hindsight the introduction of Imu meant there was no turning back, though, and now we have the most literal black and white, good vs evil story possible. But I think execution is generally good and none of the good stuff is exactly gone.
