Powers & Abilities Imu in Elbaf is impressive but not enough impressive

The reason why people think Imu is performing good or godly is because the bar was set very low.
Kaido, as strong as he is, was not a good fighter in CQC. Big Mom was a complete joke.
Kizaru was good fighter but Oda didnt take him seriously enough in Egghead, the fighting wasnt a spotlight...
.
I mean, if we´re 1100 chapters in and the bar is still low isn´t that pretty much just the bar of the series? Oda chose to make various characters, including the villain for like a half a decade in Kaido who is one of the strongest characters, just kind of sloppy. Saturn and the Gorosei are kind of in the same pattern, so it might be his new *thing*

Anyway, I think the comparison between Loki and Big Mom is pretty interesting. Lightning powers, natural monster, kind of twisted, but not really evil,(though I think that´s more like GV Big Mom, she becomes fully evil later on). Do you think his hybrid form would change anything there?

Loki is very bad in CQC, rivaling Big Mom.
So anything Imu does, as long as it is decent CQC -wise , he cannot look bad but this is all indeed nothing impressive.
Also, overpowering Zoro never happened. He landed a direct hit, there was no contest of power there. Only during Oni Giri and that ended in equality.

No, Zoro is having fights in every big arc and you can see what CQC supremacy is supposed to be like. All fights we are seeing are ultimately a build-up for Zoro vs Mihawk, the ultimate fight of this show. Just because most others are sloppy, it doesnt mean that's where the bar is...

Loki's hybrid shouldn't change anything about his CQC, he can only become even sloppier due to size increase.

In comparison to his Nidhogg form? It should be a better form for cqc fighting, like it was for Kaido. Unless you mean compared to his base? If so, not really sure why you consider base Loki sloppy?

Do you think Zoro will rematch Imu, or fight someone else in Elbaf?

But anyway, I think my point remains, Oda is definitely doubling down on big Kaijus, gimmicks, elemental powers and the like in the final saga, though there will always be a few exceptions. He pretty much retconned Luffy's power to fit with this. One Piece isn't the series for skilled manga fights, usually.

If they were to totally obliterated, wouldn’t it be called an “asspull” by the fans on this forum to catch up to that level of strength in…one saga?

It was enough of an impressive display I dunno what you’re expecting

Compared to Base form, as size increases so does the sloppiness.
I think no character has been an exception to this rule.
I think he is sloppy in base because Imu is tagging him way too easily.
The stab with the sword would be a ridiculous feat if it happened against quick, normal-sized humans.

I dont know if any serious fights will happen here, the whole point of Elbaf seems to be Imu vs Nidhogg and Ragnir, eventually Joyboy 2.0 as well. Everything else is probably optional and not relevant so while I would like for Zoro to have another go vs Imu, I do not expect anything to happen, it smells too much like Egghead where nothing ultimately happened of importance other than some important lore drop.

Yes, we are in the gigantomachy era at the moment and I think it is only the beginning.
I assume every logia will have a giant elemental form as well... Makes sense why Oda kept them away this long.
