It's quite funny... To me imu seems to be what they wanted shanks to be, but at the end of the day imu sword attacks reign supreme lol.

We still really haven't seen "advanced" conquerors haki. Barring maybe Xebec creating that barrier. It also wouldn't make sense for the idea of a CoC specialist to exist, if there weren't different ways of manipulating CoC outside of armament.

One other thing that comes to mind is Shanks supposedly being able to cancel out a users Observation haki. So I think that's what it comes down to is how you can manipulate CoC to achieve different affects.

I don't think it will ever be this magician stuff Imu is doing but I don't think it's farfetched to shoot out beams of haki when we already have flying slashes and whatnot. Technically even a haki spirit bomb should be possible or doing a vegeta's final atonement where you just blow yourself up by expending all your haki like Roger and Garp did for their attacks.

But even being able to do all that doesn't guarantee anything, just because it's coc doesn't mean a coc specialist beats an armament specialist. Luffy is a CoC specialist and just got bodied by a sword.

The only thing lacking is a bit more conviction, more faith in Mihawk being stronger than both Imu and Joyboy.
He is the one who sits atop fo the throne of supreme might, he is the one who forged the strongest weapon in history.
Not Imu nor anyone else will fare better than Roger and gang did, they are imaginary obstacles.
Also, Imu is at his strongest with his swords, we saw that everything else doesnt work, he wins only when he uses swords.
Completely normal phenomenon that he is weaker than Mihawk.

Mihawk will be defeated in the Loadstar island. Stop the cope. He will introduce Zoro that he received his sword from Imu

Which means WSS never included THE WORLD. So Zoro can became WSS, but he will never became the real strongest swordman in the world.

hmm yeah, I guess what I really meant was it's not been explained. We've seen haki barriers, know that you can cancel obs haki.

Essentially things presumably a CoC specialist can do to manipulate conquerors haki. But even then im looking for a clearer distinction compared to armament/ryuou manipulation and that.
