Man I'm not gonna lie I'm pretty intrigued by the ancient weapons of the world nobles.
Would be very interesting to see to see if each of them have their unqiue lore and feats in relation to the World Govt. conquering the world. I do find it interesting that Longinus feels a bit like an outlier amongst them given it's naming. The others all have vicious conotations, whereas Lognius in constrast feels a bit noble.
Also it seems like Oda is applying the actual legends of the blades into their actual abilities and their usage is also baked into the context it is used in. For example "Nemesis" was actively trying to defy Imu (god and order of the one piece world). Stigma is tied to branding marking and it's abilities are homing, Imu marks his targets with Omen and then attacks the mark and so on so Longinus will most likely be tied to invicibility/dominion. It's also interesting that Oda's pitting a Holy Spear against Sanji, a character with a lot of devil themes and even outright devil transformations when he's mad. So I can't help but feel that Oda is going to draw some sort of thematic contrast here. Yh I can't shake the feeling that Longinus will prove to be a weapon that cannot be countered logically speaking and I reckon PoL is gonna be the counter to it as that ability defies reason. Interested in what y'all thoughts are on this ^^

I do hope each of these weapon have a unique ability and they’re not just “really sharp and powerful swords”
I think they do ^^. Like I pointed out in my prior post, Stigma seems to "mark" it's target and has a 100% hit rate on said target,
Vohu steals life and appears to be Imu's most lethal sword. Fragarach seems to clash a bit with Vohu though coz it appeared to also steal life last chapter :risisweat:

Maybe Fragarach absorbs moisture? What it did to the branch isn’t far off how oda had crocs powers get introduced so maybe the Sea God Sword has the power to absorb nearby water and dehydration?

That checks out tbh ^^
And I just checked again and Fragarach wasn't exactly the same as Vohu
Vohu made the leaves wither and the trees themeselves remained intact but Fragarach outright disintergrated it :risisweat:
So Vohu's ability seems to target vitality. Whereas Fragrach outright disintegrates anything in it's vicinity (potentially draining all the water like Croc's fruit)
Luffy is so fucked :risisweat:
maybe all of that food wasn't necessarily for strength but rather to preserve his life coz tings were gonna get peak for him.

I feel like Wrath is very suited for Sanjis use in both style and powers, what do you guys think.
Why Wrath though we don't even know what it can do yet?
On the topic of wrrath though, lore around it seems to be about slaying Dragons so can't help but feel that it will lean heavily towards "heaviness/weight" and "durbality" also not sure if anyone else noticed but on the topic of Oda basing the abilities of the weapons around their actual lore and wittly incorporating it into the context of the fights kinda like my example on how Oda had Imu utilize "Nemesis" to punish Loki in a sense for defying him. Oda also had Sommers use Gram to defeat Zoro's dragon damnation :risisweat:
Oda might have had Zoro use that attack in particular to highlight this Gram theme of "defeating dragons"

When Zoro fought zombie Ryuma he said it felt like fighting giant beast, Zoro used a dragon attack to defeat him also Oda said if Zoro ate a DF it would be Kaidos Dragon DF so Zoro represents the Dragon. With this logic Wrath Sword Gram is really match made in heavens.

I thought this sword suited Sanji because of it's wrath aspect since Sanji can use anger to power up which fits with swords name. Considering Sanji always fights with Zoro and he represents Dragon, a dragon slaying sword is a good power up for Sanji. Also Summers is like anti Sanji so he kind of mirrors him. Summers is also a Super human like Sanji, i mean even he said he is super Summers.

Anyway i am not sure if those swords can be claimed actually since they came from Imus flame and may lack actual bodies but needs mediums to actualize. But if they can be claimed by defeating Holy Knights that would be cool, even if they can only be used by a medium it's still a great power up.

What ability is Longinus gonna have? KH already has immortality.
Maybe it’s ability is that it’s impossible to dodge, you have to take the hit or block it if you can.
Then i thought maybe it’s impossible to block, but Sanji already did, so that is out of the window.
I mean a sure hit weapon of such a Caliber is extremely dangerous, but i kinda hope for a little more.

I hear you on the swords potentially being awesome powerups but neither Zoro or Sanji are going to ever use them. Moreover I think, Zoro is gonna have a better sword than Gram post his fight coz imo one of his blades awakens as a black blade (i.e. most likely Enma).

With regards to the bit about Zoro representing a Dragon that's an interesting take and tbh what I though of initially but Zoro's dragon damnation is actually Zoro's dragon slaying attack which he uses against King's flame dragon on Wano.
So I think what Oda did here was pit that attack againt Gram, an actual dragon slayer to highlight Gram's superirority and show Zoro that dragon damanation is powerful as it is, doesn't really compare to the real deal so Zoro's challenge this arc i think will be to develop his blade into an actual dragon slayer like Gram and defeat it.

Just an idea. It could be like Ban weapon from SDS.
  • Super Concentration: Maximizes Ban's focus and allows him to bring out his latent physical and mental strength.
  • Unpredictable Reach: The chained, multi-section design lets the weapon bend, stretch, and move at irregular angles and speeds, making it very hard for enemies to dodge.
  • Synergy with Snatch: Complements Ban's power to steal physical attributes from his opponents by boosting the range and precision of his attacks. (Could work with his Devil fruit)

I feel like this is what it's going to be and the reason why Oda can afford to use this against Sanji in particular regardless of how OP that ability is, is coz of how durable he is. Even if he can't dodge ge can take a beating till he figures out how to overcome it.
Personally I think this ability is a lot more appealing than a weapon with mad AP against someone like Sanji coz he quite literally seals Sanji's ability to block and makes his CoO redundant, two tings he's bloody good at which imo is a way to foster growth for Sanji.
If it's just a powerful weapon, Sanji can dodge that shit all day everyday but yh I wouldn't mind Oda adding an additional twist to it ^^.

Probably something along the lines of “Guaranteed Critical” would be in games. Basically if an attack hits, the spear will do significantly more damage than one would expect. Kinda going along with the lore of the spear that pierced through Jesus without being incredibly broken like an “unblockable” hax would go.

Basically look up jackpot knuckle from bleach and apply to spear

Even if he can't dodge ge can take a beating till he figures out how to overcome it.
But that would be absolutely boring. A sure hit weapon would work well, but it would also need to have huge AP to be a threat. If Sanji can't dodge it, but he can block it and even tank it, then i see no point in that realy.
And what would there be to overcome? Sanji would have to switch to the offensive, since he can't dodge it anyways and tanking it all day long wouldn't go anywhere. Sanji would simply have to attack faster than KH.
I also kinda expect KH to stab Sanji during this fight.
Could also go something along those lines, after KH stabbed Sanji and is going for the finishing blow, we would get Sanji coat himself with CoC and be able to withstand the spear or even break it.

Need to say this:
This amazing club is only soo successful because of you two, @Doggo and @Mr. Reloaded
The captain and vicecaptain of this fanclub, you both carried Sanji the past years very hard, without you both, I doubt this fanclub would be this successful, you both show the entire forum why you are the biggest Sanji fans out there.
