Powers & Abilities The coating aspect of "ACoC" is completely trivial. It got overrated because of Luffy.

I see people still trying to make it sound like "ACoC" is some next level evolution of "base CoC" but this is nonsense. Luffy, Sanji, Zoro all instantly used ACoC. There was 0 training. When it's shown time and time again that having "base CoC" is the main requirement, especially in the case of Zoro and Sanji, it just shows that people only see it this way because of Luffy's weird Haki progression.

Luffy did the hard part first: unlock CoC, but he still had basic hardening CoA. He couldn't do the coating technique. But the coating technique is fairly trivial. Kinemon can do it. Kiku can do it. So can Hyogoro and Marigold.

Luffy called it "advanced" because he was thinking of Rayleigh's ACoA. This is where the confusions stems from. You don't need ACoA to do coating. Hyogoro explained that ACoA is just a more powerful evolution of coating. Yamato showed this.

Conclusion: Luffy just had a weird path where he had fully unlocked CoC, and then he learned coating. But this is very abnormal within One Piece. as even relative minnows can do coating.

This was obviously because Oda hadn't fleshed out "ACoC" up until the end of Wano. Even Kaido and Big Mom did not show it up at the start of Wano.

0 visual evidence of "ACoC" here. And the worst part is the VIZ translation where Kaido made it seem like only Top Tiers can use it, just made some people double down. In reality all Kaido said is "only a handful of strong people can do it" not "only the very strongest can do it".

Yes it's not the next level of coc, just the ability to coat it on your body (or weapon), but that still is something not every coc user can do as kaido said. I would argue shanks or gaban coc beams are more fitting of the title advcoc

Btw, an explanation of Kaido's quote

But unlocking CoC is actually much harder than learn how to coat Haki is my point. CoC is one in a million or millions. Coating even guys like Kinemon and Hyogoro can do.

It's just Oda hadn't fully fleshed this stuff out yet, so Luffy took an unusual pattern into it.

I think this translation was correct.
Oda will never make an aCoC user lose to someone who doesn't have that ability, at least.
So all those without it are not among the very strongest.

Probably, but oda could've wrote kidd unlocking advcoc vs bigmeme and decided to go awakening route instead.

We'll see if doffy and kata return to the story if oda will give them advcoc

Oda literally told us readers through Kaido that - and I quote - "only the top of the top, a handful of people in the world, can coat themselves with CoC".

Now Oda just said "nah, fuck consistency, I'll hand it out like candy now, doesn't matter that this character didn't even know he had basic CoC a chapter ago".

To be fair to Oda, Chinjao foresaw this

The only issue is, he has to constantly retcon Haki as a system, and so "ACoC" was never shown up until Roger/Whitebeard.

"Even kinemon and kiku could coat it" is instantly debunked by Zoro not being able to Coat it properly and even compared it to CoA and how its harder to do with CoC
Lol
Mate, Zoro couldn't use "basic CoC" either. That's the point. He didn't even know he had it.

The second both Zoro/Sanji unlocked "basic CoC" they insta-unlocked "ACoC".

Why are you shocked? It's called powercreep, in the same way CoC was never special to begin with even tho everybody made a big deal out of it for Luffy having it in MF. Complete overreaction

Now we got ACoC bargain sale. Expect Law and some admirals to get it too btw

It's not a "powercreep" if there is literally no transition from CoC to ACoC.

It's just Oda not fleshing out the Haki system properly.

The problem with it aCoC is that's it precisely not trivial.

It's basically Armament, but for the Chosen Ones.

It guards like Armament, but better. It increases attack potency like Armament, but better.

As implemented, it's a terrible construct.
My point is the coating aspect of it is trivial (as long as it's not ACoA). ACoC difficulty is basically 99% CoC, and 1% coating. "The chosen one" shit is what CoC is. It was shown since Marineford.

The "advanced" nomer really came from Luffy thinking of Rayleigh's ACoA Haki blasts.

But basic coating is something even Mid Tiers can do.

It is powercreep tho? New powerup that everyone also gets later to keep up with power levels

Yea its also Oda not fleshing out haki. It's still not fleshed out and never will. Its Oda's temu nen system where he makes shit up as he goes along. Still powercreep and doesnt necessarily mean every character will get it retroactively
