@Cinera against Cracker he used hardening, against Hody invisible Haki, and he got bitten to the neck. Saying his Haki cannot protect him from this kind of damage yet.

@LANJI CUCKSMOKE: Doffy did not just outlast it though. He dealt a lot of damage to Luffy, and by the time G4 ran out, Luffy couldn't move his body at all. Cracker wasn't able to deal significant damage to Boundman.

@comrade: this is a very good point. I guess I would retract my claim that he grew significantly stronger. I do think some of his abilities improved (at least his endurance and stamina), but not enough to grow a level. Certainly not compared to the FS, Advanced COA or Udon training.

Luffy took much longer to use G4 against Kata than against Cracker. Do you want to argue that it's a point in Cracker's favour? Luffy going G4 so early against Kata seems to have mainly been desperation to get Sanji back quicker.

Before Gamma Knife, Luffy never laid a hand on Doffy without Law's help. Post GK, he could lay a hand on Doffy shortly, but after that, Doffy started dodging G2 from close range again and counter attacking. While still being massively injured. And it was just base Doffy, while Cracker in his armor was basically him at his strongest.

Oda in the SBS said that Luffy not being able to move after G4 was never the case. Never. He couldn't move after using G4 against Doffy because Doffy taxed him so much. With hakiless awakening. While Flap Thread already had portrayal of being >= Leo Bazooka in strength. With God Thread being even stronger.

I think the biggest point against this is that he had G4 for over 6 months (Rayleigh left 6 months early), and I find it hard to believe that Luffy was left completely wasted each time he used G4 on Rusukaina.

@LANJI CUCKSMOKE but then again. Oda in the SBS already stated that Luffy never had the issue of not being able to move solely from G4 usage. Now that he has advanced Haki control, I'm sure that the duration of G4 is increased, while the Haki waste is reduced (due to better flow/control).
