@Marimo_420 @Natalija First, Toriyama will always hold a special place in my heart, but Dragon Ball hasn’t had a well-written female character since Bulma (although Caulifa/Kale have been cool in their limited time). Second, Oda COULD do as you said, Nat, if this were 15 years ago. He’s tired, visibly losing steam, and not as detail-oriented as he used to be. Diminished efforts will always lead to diminished results.

Maybe if I reread Punk Hazard, but it's not a topic I particularly feel that strongly about. I just got annoyed that Monet is rarely mentioned when folks are discussing the best girls.

Ofc if she turned out to be alive she would eventually reunite with Sugar, Doflamingo and her other crewmates. I have never seen Monet join the Straw Hats, anymore than Nami or Carrot eating the Yuki Yuki no mi.

@Natalija You really feel like his characters are better now than they were five, even ten years ago? It seems to me like he constantly introduces goofy secondary characters with the same shtick that end up barely mattering after their respective arcs. Oden is maybe the most work he’s put into a non-SHP in years, and some people think he sucks more than the rest.

@Jew D. Boy Definitely, I overall prefer the characters post time skip. But I can't elaborate in a status where Cinera likes to confine us. Maybe you're just not as into OP anymore? Oh Oden is definitely trash, but there are many superstars.

Pre TS nakamas were better for the quantity of interactions they shared. In general Post TS characters are not worse than Pre TS however, ar least backstories wise in my opinion.

The Strawhats I cared about the most preskip (Robin and Zoro) seem to have lost nuance and depth and began confirming more to particular archetypes postskip. I find it hard to vare about Robin anymore, and Zoro, well I mainly care about his fights and feats now.
