  • 1. Carrot is a wanderer, she was created like that from the start. So making her lose and making Perospero say "stay on your island" AND making Carrot stay on her Island, was contradictory to what Oda had build previousely. BUT, it seems like he did not fully commit. And this cover actually shows that he stayed true to her character by allowing her to wonder around. This makes her conclusion of Wano much better.
There is a chances Oda had no plan for Carrot. It's possible that he made her Queen just as a gift for her fanbase. That would explain quite a lot.

@Johnny B. Decent No it's not really possible. I'm not joking when I say that Carrot both in her construction and story has innate particularities that make her completely stand out from the other minks and even other characters. Her constructions is similar to the ones of Momonosuke or even Vivi and we know their status in the story. Wanda, while an interesting character is nowhere near this level of crafting.

Carrot was purposely created in order to stand out and be a bridge between all the mink. That was something I predicted far before even Wano. BUT she is more than that in the story, she has thematics taht are closer to a character that would follow the crew rather than staying back. This is why I'm so adamant. This construction speaks to me.

And I'm trying to understand why I got it wrong... if I really got it wrong. Since the story is not over yet.
Who is stronger, Shanks or Loki? If Shanks is stronger, would Kaido win against Loki as well?

Shanks put Loki in shackles so i'd say Shanks. Against Loki ? Kaido would struggle. I don't know who would win.

We don't know how Shanks managed to capture Loki in the first place. I'm sure Oda will reveal the real twist soon.

Kaido put Oden in shackles so he beats Kaido
I actually kinda love the agenda shenanigans. I have a lot too myself. It's just pains me that when some people gets theirs in the muds, it transforms into hatred
Some people might know the Tintin cartoon. Well early One Piece has a similar art direction. The palette of color, the "comic" look, the various effect of water or wind. It's very impactfull when you are a kid and you watch that. It grips you into the story. You almost remember the ambiance more that what is happening.
I think one of the reasons some anime people love pretimeskip so much (me included) is the art-direction which is immaculate up to marineford (it kinda peaks in Water Seven). after that, the art team took to many too many shortcuts and the result had no real coherency, which led to flat drawings and stiff animations. Gladly, they decided to change things aroundn wano. And now, we have something really cool.
OMFG I THINK I KNOW WhAT IMU IS ABOUT TO DO AND WHY IT "SHOULD" WORK

I'm scared to talk about it. It could be a spoiler for this week's chapter. For some reason, it jumped on me while watching dressrosa.

    1. It could make perfect sense.
    2. It could be amazing for character development
    3. You should be scared
It's really funny to see the entire OP fanbase slowly realize that we have a big hating club. Well..Better late than never I guess

I'm just telling you to be an actual person that can understand nuance and not just a parrot that spouts the same opinion of "One Piece perfect! Haters wrong!!" and nothing else
You don't have to hate One Piece, but if you ACTUALLY loved One Piece and understood it as a series, you'd understand that it's definitely not perfect.

Do never saw pe telling you that One Piece is a perfect story. You only this me being overally positive about it. One Piece is not perfect, but I prefer to keep my critics out of this environment as it would only add to the fuel of hate. You guyz are the ones here lacking nuance and awareness about the context. Like I've said already, I have somecritics that exceed even what can be said here

And yet, I still find this serie amazing. As the masterpiece it is. It's just a question of nuance, like you said, and the understanding of the social context of critics and fanbases. And the impacts critics can have in environment were the only motto is trashing.
Half lunarian, half ancient giant (potentially), with the power of the Devil's fruit and the immortality of the Op Op no Mi... welp.. It was fun o7
I saw someone laugh in the Nakama thread about Usopp and Mjölnir.. Don't forget that the hammer has been Usopp's secondary weapon and tool from the start. It represents his craftness and courage. It would be narratively logical to make Usopp hold it.
Even if they are all cool.. Antagonist post-time skip are much better written than pre-time skip ones. Aside from a few exceptions, the motivations of the early antagonists were mostly neglected to a simple wish or a dream.. but post time skip? There are entire backstories, needs and desires. While Oda pushed the exageration meter, he mades them much more layered

You could say that the Gorosai lacks a bit of that.. but the rest.. damn... Katakuri, Orochi, Doffy, Kaido, Big Mom, Hody, BlackBeard.

They are not all perfect, but they are really cool to antagonise

Kaido was so bad in Wano

His motives, backstory, explanation of his actions etc etc

All were rushed or unexplained or quite plain
