2020 really was such a shitshow of a year for gaming compared to 2019. You've got Doom Eternal and Nioh 2 at the start of the year, Hades in September, and that's about it. TLOU2 = kek. RE3 demake = a brutal slap in the face. FFVII resequel = a disappointing mess with some good bits. Demon's Souls repaint = art direction assassination. Ghosts ot Tsushima = mediocre slop. AC Valhalla = even more mediocre slop.
I can't help but occasionally reminisce about just how badly Netflix fucked up with the Witcher. They get arguably the best fantasy franchise (imo) on their hands and pick cretins who would rather mock the source material than adapt it with competency and respect, nevermind real passion.
The Clone Wars is overrated a fair bit. It's got a a number of genuinely good arcs (Umbara, Ahsoka being framed, Maul stuff), but a decent chunk of the show is slightly painful to watch (especially early on).
A couple of hot takes I guess:
- TCW Anakin is a solid character without any context, but fails as a portrayal of Anakin.
- TCW Dooku is very mediocre. TCW Grievous is atrocious, but that's not a hot take.
Man, I truly deplore the fact that the sheer multilayered complexity of the internet is still not a foolproof guarantee of even recent-ish stuff not becoming lost media.
