I've always said that Zoro could surpass the Yonko, don't try to put words on my mouth only because I do not agree with that ludicrous fanfiction, lol.

Yeah ok. Like shanks never used to be a swordsman but now suddenly were all to happy to accept he is.

I don't know who you are referring to but this does not include me as well there, lol.

Well Mihawk will still stay below Old healthy Whitebeard. Not much to be registered.

I think Roger falls under the same category as Big Mom and Arlong, a brawler who doubles as a swordsman. If swordsmanship is Roger at his best, then he's irrelevant to the WSS title as he's no longer alive. At the very least, Prime Rayleigh should be Mihawk's ideal power level.
Finalbeta

Roger hasn't shown any other style aside from swordsmanship. He is no fistsman or karate master just to name two of them.

WB hasn't shown either.

I'm not sure how this means anything for Mihawk tbh. All the in-series titles seem to be inventions for after Roger died, aka they developed in the Great Age of Piracy. Middle gen has always been portrayed as strong, just not on the level of Old gen. Considering Roger died when Mihawk was younger than Zoro is now, it's pretty obvious he doesn't fall under the WSS competition.

Ryuma was renowned as the sword god and had a black blade, Mihawk is renowned as the strongest swordsman and has a black blade. Yet Roger, who is the strongest swordsman in history has no black blade, nor the slightest kind of renown in the swordsman community?

You're falling to their game. THIS CHAPTER DOESN'T DEHYPE ANYONE, let alone Rayleigh.
And has absolutely nothing to do with Mihawk

Cmon cinera you're being disappointing

Titles are about power levels and power levels alone, this is the only notion Oda told us so far. Rest is a bunch of mental constructs.

Whitebeard and Kaido are known for being respectively strongest man and creature, that's it. It's about the characters, not a particular skill.

You can blacken a weapon and still be inferior to another swordsman, 'swordsman' still refers to the character and not simply the sword.

I can basically tell that Cinera is at the right way. ;)

I think the fandom is obsessed with hyping/dehyping people based off very limited evidence and ambiguous context. I sincerely doubt Oda intended to shit on his characters, incidentally or otherwise, with this chapter. It's very clear that he's rushing the Oden flashback and we should take all powerscaling information about third parties with a pinch of salt.

I wouldn't dehype Mihawk. He is the most powerful swordsman. But as more and more of the absolute elite is using swords (WB and Roger included) you might argue that not everyone with a sword is a swordsman by Mihawk's and Zoro's definition
comrade

I think that a black blade is like a proof you reached the peak as a swordsman. That's why only Ryuma and Mihawk are known to have it and only Zoro will achieve it as the third one.

Come on, don't be that mad only because you were owned that much by comrade and me.

While the blades of Roger and WB aren't black because they aren't swordsman. Even though their CoA is obviously stronger. Not like Mihawk turns out to have the strongest CoA in history. Along with Ryuma and Zoro

@Sentinel even comrade agrees that mihawk's title is about current people not roger and this chapter doesn't say shit about mihawk. You're just a biased sword hater
