@Nidai Lots of Sanji fans lost interest in the character and heck some even dropped OP thanks to WCI. I seen it happen irl and on forums. Legit everyone remembers WCI it's a stain that can't be washed away.

Zoro is different. His character didn't take a nosedive. He simply wasn't expanded upon. At worst he's sitting in the same position he was pre Wano.

The only real issue for me on Wano was the Ryuma stuff. C'mon now Zoro had direct links to the dude and you're not even gonna have him visit the grave onscreen and then shoutout Luffy as the new Ryuma.

The Ryuma plot and Zoro's bloodline will be revealed later. How could you guys lose hope when Kawamtsu explicitly said Ryuma was also a one eyed samurai? Ryuma looked exactly like Zoro in that panel. If anything, we should be happy that Oda elevated Ryuma to Joyboy level.

Nah Sanji's damage hit deeper than that, Queen's fight can't make up for that. 2 of my irl friends used to be Sanji fans don't even have him in their current top 5. There's cuistot who is still active here but far from a Sanji fan like he was pre WCI. And many more we don't even see. Zoro's was surface level, there was no character assassination so he can bounce back.

@Nidai_Kitetsu Timing matters, little scenes like Zoro visiting Ryuma's grave needed to happen on Wano. Post king fight it's like Zoro didn't exist. Which was wack. But like I said it's not irreparable or anything.

Lmfao no. Sanji's character on WCI is nothing like he was prior. Oda created a standalone character and also ruined the simplicity of Sanji's backstory by involving the power rangers. Not to mention all the gene modification bs.

Based on how Oda writes the story, it might have more impact if he visits Ryuma's grave later. Yes, Zoro's irrelevance after post King fight is an issue, but thats separate from Ryuma plot.

Yea I'm not saying exactly what needed to happen, I'm saying there was no closure for Zoro on Wano. He was stick figure in the background. No interaction with Hiyori nothing.

At the very least, logical progression of the story suffers when Oda holds off on plot points like that.
With Kid/Law rising to the occasion, Zoro's relevance as the combatant is being reduced too. But his storyline is intact.
If there was ever any need for Zoro's backstory drama, it was Wano. Now with SHP out of Wano, exploring it again will just be extra baggage no one asked for. And his storyline will get muddied

Well this is what makes post skip One Piece weak. Lack of down to earth Strawhat moments. I don't think a lore dump in the future is what I'm talking about. The best parts of post skip Zoro took place in act 1 and 2 of Wano when he built relationships with Yasu and Hiyori.

But I can still critique a work. Holding off on plot points doesn’t work. And he held off the worst way imaginable. He could've easily added 2 panels of Zoro saying that he intends to visit Ryuuma's grave one day when he is ready or something.
