I meant the Gomu Gomu / Nika retcon. The foreshadowing for it amounted to WW talking about Nika once during his final fight (minutes before the reveal instory) and contradicted the WG's attitude towards Luffy and his fruit so far with a random sense of urgency to take him out.

Saying it was a Retconn, means during Pre-TS, Oda had a Different Identity for Nika, Different Awakening for Luffy's DF, Different Scenario for Kaidou Fight, Lucci Hinted at someone other than WsW ... etc Which is completely Unlikely.

We have multiple hints pointing at this Pre TS.

Only thing was oda went from being normal fruit and nothing special to make it ultra special. Well one can argue it was for suprise reveal

But then he made Gorosei being aware of Nika fruit and not once they tried to get it back

Government safeguarding the fruit, Shanks stealing it, Shanks panicking after Luffy eating it and putting it in the child's subconscious that its just a gum gum fruit, Shanks losing arm to motivate him to become a pirate. Shanks smiling when Mihawk brings his first bounty poster. Luffy showing his gears, unimaginable endurance which isn't possible unless one is a zoan.

His paramecia powers non existent. He neither created rubber nor affected his environment before awakening. Gear form change is similar to Chopper's points. Sun God in Skypiea. A simple rubber boy surviving Magellans poison, fighting with such pain and fatigue that nearly killed Zolo. I can go all day. Only haters have problem with it. I didn't believe a paramecia rubber could do all that.

He still has properties of rubber, maybe this Nika fruit is the progeny of all devil fruits since Vegapank connected wish and imagination with dfs. Or the fruit bore the resin\rubber of the original tree of the fruit. People acting without using their brain. Accepting whatever is written without using logic is the reason. D so. Shanks saying the name is the only reason that Luffy believed that he is a rubber. After hearing Shanks, luffy imagined he was a rubber and that is how he became one. His imagination is limiting him. Once Vegapank tells him this, he can just imagine he is harder than the diamond and nothing would cut him.

Of all the things being mentioned here more than half aren't really hints of gomu gomu no mi being something different. It's nice that they connect, but they could exist on their own without the reveal, like a pre-colombian inspired civilization having a generic Sun God (that wasn't named). If the Gorosei's attitude throughout the manga had hinted the reveal, I'd be 100% convinced that this was planned since ---

--- chapter 1, but not as it stands. Just like haki wasn't planned 25 years ago when Shanks got his arm bitten off. Awakenings being around or Kaido existing have nothing to do with it either, and things like Shanks smiling at Luffy's bounty is... how a hint of this? I love G5's powers and that Luffy has it, but I hate how it being a thing was handled. ---
