Many of my favorites have already been mentioned (including "nothing happened" and "El Dorado was up there") but still wanted to drop this one:
No other scene shows Luffy's determination more powerfully than this one imo. Went through the whole Impel Down ordeal, fought his way through the...
No. His arm was already regenerated by then. This happens after the knee strike that gets King out of the way where we can clearly see him jumping in with a fully regenerated arm.
He maintains both a phoenix wing and a human arm here, showing a partial transformation:
Shows phoenix wings and...
The Kizaru kick clearly shows well defined wings just before the strike though and it's even more clear in the Queen/King scene where we see him from the front with the feathers clearly drawn in the inner part of his right wing while maintaining his human left arm.
Will have to double check but am pretty sure Marco has appeared with the phoenix wings but human legs a couple of times in marineford when he kicked Kizaru and Aokiji on top of manifesting just one wing paired with a human arm against King and Queen.
Sounds like partial transformations to me.
Episode was alright.
Pacing wasn't as good as 1115 which is to be expected since there wasn't much material to work with in the chapter being adapted. You can definitely feel the stretching in some places and kinda disappointed that we didn't get an extended fight exchange in the same vein as...
He was able to use G4 in short bursts without any of the drawbacks by the time we got to Onigashima (destroying the ship with Kid and Law, beating the Number and the Snakeman combo attack with Yamato) but was still immobilized after prolonged use.
The same probably goes for G5.
Think it's pretty clear that the contrast between Luffy and what you would expect of an emperor is completely intentional on Oda's part. He was never gonna make him a planner or the kind of guy who can actually see or even care about the big picture of balance of power politics. Characters in...
They are not gonna learn in a couple of days what took Luffy a year and a half to get down.
If the other SH's ever get haki it will be an awakening in an extreme situation similar to Usopp. It's too late for just training to do the trick at this point unless Oda really wants to downplay the two...
Fact that the fire threatening to burn down Yggdrasil, the "world tree", might have just been from Luffy and co cooking up some rabbit for lunch is pretty funny.
In Usopp's defence, getting destroyed by a combo attack from Luffy, Zoro and Sanji doesn't make one fodder. For all we know that cat could be tobiroppo lvl or higher
:josad:
As much shit as I give Dressrosa for pretty much being the origin of the side character overload that's now bloating the manga, it was probably the last arc that had me genuinely laughing at some of the silly shenanigans thrown around.
Dude's Presbyopia is so severe he can't even see his...
I think problem with the Revos is more so how the stuff they do is illustrated/depicted. You never really get a good sense of the scale of their achievements because Oda doesn't bother drawing their feats as the big deal they are.
You'll get Dragon and co talking about how effective the...
Think it's only fair that the Straw Hats have access to their fleet and allies for something like this. They are an integral part of what makes up their total strength as a Yonko crew after all. Whitebeard didn't typically sail with his entire armada of allies but when he needed them for war...
Damn I actually really like this.
Usopp has already proven he can put his life on the line for his crew and friends. He's already stood up for people he has no connections or commitment to (Dressrosa) but he has never actually fought for his own pride like Dorry and Brogy were doing.
Let's see...
To be fair, One Piece really has never been focused on dedicated training arcs like other Shonen. the 2 years timeskip was the only time the crew as a whole legitimately put their journey on hold to improve themselves and that was also a huge milestone starting the "New World" portion of the...
