One Piece at it's worst never had a character as shitty as Sasuke hijack the entire manga to focus on him for so long.
The best thing going for Naruto is when it ended so nostalgia can blind you all to its myriad of faults.
I rather doubt it. She wasn't especially important at Zou, and then wasn't at Wano. Just a cute sidekick for an arc where there wasn't many main characters.
And there's nothing wrong with that.
Right off the top of my head, the fox monk in Wano, Stronger and Killingham all didn't need to be Mythical Zoans.
The fox could have been the Longarm model, Stronger gets a Crow or Fly Zoan, and Killingham is solely the Dream-Dream Fruit
Well, what I mean is, when Imu dies, there may be some element of sympathy. Like a sad old man who lived too long and all that time, he was tied to the past or something.
In comparison, I *really* doubt Teach's own potential death will have any element of that at all.
Could be....for the moment. But even his little speech before he went to Elbaf seemed a bit odd. Like it seemed more like a lament then entitled whining.
Or...what if Xebec was partially correct, but not as much as he thought?
What if there were two Davy Jones? A father who was prince of the Ancient Kingdom, and his son, who was forced to become a pirate after said Kingdom fell.
Also, Imu does seem to be building to have some level of sympathy for him, if he really was Joy Boy's friend. Like it seems he felt angry and betrayed the way he shouted his name.
But Blackbeard killed one brother and sold another down the river with a twinkle in his eye. Like, even if Imu has...
What is notable is, it's only nations outside of the WG's umbrella that really know about Joy Boy and Nika and the like. But Davy Jones, even as a folk story, is common knowledge.
How did his legacy escape the Stalin-like un-personing that Joy Boy endured?
Let me try this again, @ZenZu
Whether you believe Sasuke was a villain or a rival, I still would say the stakes of the final duel were relatively low, as Sasuke had alienated everyone around him and basically got to walk away because Naruto wanted him too. Like there was no one there for him...
Ehh...whether or not you say he did kinda soften up by their final duel or not, I still would say the stakes were relatively low in contrast to OP's future encounter by virtue of Sasuke being such an asshole who betrayed all his allies that no one abided him anymore. At least Teach has a fleet...
Of course, the differences are Naruto VS Sasuke was merely a boyhood rivalry of who was the best whereas Luffy VS Teach is for the control of the Dawn of the New Era, of who basically guides the world's fate.
So, the latter is quite a bit more high-stakes.
But yeah, the closest analogy to Sasuke would be like if Ace survived Marineford, but held a grudge against Luffy for Whitebeard dying or whatever. Blackbeard is absolutely a villain, not a semi-friendly rival, and Luffy absolutely does not like him at all and would never align with him, even to...
Very well, allow me to explain my stance.
I absolutely concede Luffy is going to defeat Imu, presumably at Mariejois. But I also firmly believe after the fight, Teach will kill Imu and usurp the WG, as Luffy will be too exhausted and they are forced to withdraw. Granted, I believe Pluton will...
Unfortunately, I am talking about technicalities.
So, when I say Blackbeard is the Final Villain, I mean, the series will conclude with his defeat, and then a great epilogue to conclude the story. It doesn't matter if his fight lasts 10 chapters and Imu's is 25. By proxy of being Luffy's...
Yes, he was. Why? Because by proxy of him still being an asshole and wanting one final challenge against his rival, Sasuke was the Final Villain of Naruto.
Same thing with Dragon Ball OG and Piccolo Jr. The stakes were far lower then with Piccolo Sr., but same concept.
