Just wanted to see thoughts on this. Cause to me, powerscaling wise and reactions from both Kaido and Luffy, it seems Kaido definitely had the upper hand.
But if that's the case, why was their a need to have CP0 intervene? Why the parallel to Oden? If Luffy wasn't about to win, then this was a...
The only problem I see with this theory is that Tama's fruit has not been officially introduced in the manga yet. Which points to the idea that it's name isn't that important, so the "twist" kinda falls apart.
Goddamn insanely well spotted. I was really confused about Roc moves before since I thought it was just the same thing under a different name, but this actually makes so much sense and it's such a subtle and great improvement to Luffy's fighting style. Huge props.
Actually insane how Oda can...
I think this finally puts to rest the idea that Kaidou needs to be killed this arc.
If the defeat involves him realizing that he isn't Joyboy, but Luffy is instead, then he would have no need to reinvade Wano, since he's only there for it's importance to the Joyboy plot. But if his entire...
Most of the time he's been in base.
His final, strongest attack he used in base.
He used Hybrid once, and it wasn't even in the main fight, but while he was still fighting with Queen.
Compared to a normal Zoan like Lucci, Jabra, Kaido... Who's Hybrid form is pretty much a straight upgrade to...
Started from nothing, became King of a powerful Kingdom through his charisma and now is looking forwards to ruling the entire world and sitting on Imu's Throne. If that's not Kingly Ambitions I don't know what is.
We practically know nothing about King, not even how he looks, or what the secret to his power is, and even less any weaknesses. And Zoro just STARTED to tame Enma so he's about to get powered up attacks from that.
It feels like there's too much to cover for a single chapter, it'd definitely be...
There is no SFX for crackling or sparkling electricity, and I doubt Oda would add electricity on top of Sanji's kicks when he made a point of tthe powerup being a pure heat upgrade. Fire is sort of Sanji's theme.
It's probably just an aesthetic choice to represent the attack is much stronger...
I thought the entire point of editors was to help make the story better.
I could imagine people would be enjoying the raid a lot more if we didn't have that awful stretch of chapters of Luffy just running for the rooftop just so Oda's editors could have their chapter 1000 milestone.
Like...
I don't think it's over just yet.
If it is, then we might have to start lowering our expectations for King and Kaidou's defeat cause it might as well end the same way.
When CoC clashes first started to pop up with Luffy vs Chinjao, Luffy vs Doflamingo, Luffy vs Katakuri... Oda made a very clear point that these black lightning sparks were fully intended to be for CoC users, that's how the story painted it out to be. If you were reading at the time you'd know...
Very true, but still has nothing to do with my point that finding All Blue simply isn't portrayed on the same level as Zoro's or Luffy's dream. Take this arc for example, how many times has Luffy said already he'd become Pirate King? This chapter, Zoro too claimed he made a promise to become...
Because Sanji doesn't consider it as much of a dream compared to others. Luffy has ALWAYS wanted to be Pirate King, and everything he does was to achieve that goal. Zoro has ALWAYS wanted to be WSS, and has never let go, their dreams are always in their minds when they fight.
Sanji was...
Beast Pirates needed to be nerfed otherwise it'd be a stomp.
It's why for example only Big Mom and Peros are in the war right now, or why Doflamingo needed to be Gamma Knife'd. Oda loves to nerf enemies to make the fights fair.
