Hard to say. It could be a misnomer like "raftel" actually being "laugh tale".
Or it could be something that roger left in one piece but didn't remain in one piece.
It could be "one piece" of a greater puzzle.
Who knows.
Hey I just wanna pop in again to say that this theory is very likely to be partially true. Part of the one piece is in wano, so by definition the whole thing isn't at laugh tale. Unless wano is laugh tale.
They're doing a bit too little to flesh out the important elements of zoro's backstory and emphasize his progress to his dream.
Playing up his origins is cool and all, but its not really leading to significant growth on zoro's part like it did for sanji. I think it could if done differently...
Can you expound a bit on this? Its an interesting thought I've never really hard before and I'd like to hear your reasoning. I don't really see how transhumanism is out of place in a pirate story (where hook hands and peg legs for example are ofetn fairly common).
The One Piece at least has setup for not living up to the hype. In gaimon's treasure the chests are literally empty. One piece has never shied away from highlighting that value is subjective.
It doesn't have to be some out of this world thing to be a good reveal. Something quaint and more...
I don't think so mostly because the expected confrontation doesn't really line up all that well with zoro's backstory, nor what we know of the story so far.
In his backstory zoro missed out on his fated chance to defeat kuina and surpass her as a swordsman. While it may be cathartic in some way...
Does anyone who can read japanese explain how wano is being recieved in Japan? We don't have anything to go off besides sales, and I think a lot of people would be curious.
I think a big part of the controversy stems from Oda's announcement that One Piece is almost over, ending in only 5 years.
Sure, we've heard it will end soon before, but we never really believed it until now where Oda is taking the initiative.
I think in a way both sides of the controversy...
Big mom just seems like a worse-executed version of kaido to me.
Both villains have a lot of interesting depth and backstory that makes them incredibly compelling foils to the main character and allow for some nuanced comparisons with roger and the greater world at large. They also have layers...
One Piece isn't a slow starter of a manga. The first chapter does a great job of establishing direction for the series as well as gripping incentive to read and while most people say it doesn't get good until arlong park I think its already great by baratie without future context.
When you read...
I wouldn't be mad if one piece was "the friends we made along the way". I know that's not how it's ending (as confirmed by oda), but at this rate it could end up better than what we actually get.
Even from a non cynical perspective, one piece is legendary enough to really earn an ending like...
Oda and the editing team are still responsible/accountable for the week to week reception of their series, as the series is weekly be design.
If people aren't getting enough payoff to be satisfied on a weekly basis, then that reflects negatively on the content, pacing, and publishing of the...
There are two arcs in one piece that are specifically about treasure hunting. The Island of Rare Animals and Skypeia. Both are the only real treasure hunts in OP, and likely the arcs with the most potential parallelism to the act of finding one piece and the nature of the treasure in itself...
