Well you have to consider the amount of time that's elapsed since Kaido's downfall.
It took a week for Luffy and Zoro to wake, but that was a chaotic time logistically so no time to do any rebuilding.
Then it took another few days for festivities + their departure.
Then it took, what, another 3...
Yeah he would be old as dirt if he somehow managed to survive GV and slink off into irrelevance, but if you wanted to do some deep crackpot theorizing you could imply that the fruit he's after might have some rejuvenating abilities or maybe tie it into Blackbeard.
That fruit chest is prime...
Not quite sure how this would line up timeline wise because Gaban and Shanks were present here, meaning way way post God Valley. Rocks would be a geriatric around this part in time. I like the idea behind it though.
Could also be something tied to a mythical zoan but I found it strange that it had a curl pattern in it that's similar to the traditional devil fruit swirl or that it looks like it has a stem. Whatever the case may be I think it's a tell about some aspect of him though. Someone smarter than me...
His Jolly Roger had like a flame skull thing on it from what I recall. Might be something elemental. Then again that might just because of his hair style.
Funny to imagine Brook's initial bounty of 33M was actually (inflation-adjusted at 9x@50years because Dorry and Broggy were adjusted 18x@100years) nearly 300M lmao
To be fair Kaido was destroying everything in Wano for like 20 years to feed his war efforts. All of the Ringo shrines post-Oden death look run down and tattered in Kawamatsu's flashback.
I could see it. It'll be interesting to find out how and what he says or does that really draws Loki into admiring him (or at least want to run away with him and leave his life of misery at Elbarf).
One of the things I'm curious about with Loki going forward is his perspective on Xebec and how it might relate to Luffy/BB. He clearly admired him, but why? Was Xebec's morality more similar to Luffy or to Blackbeard when Loki first meets him? Does Xebec espouse personal liberty and that...
I mean fair, he's not like completely inactive in their lives in some capacity. But it kinda reads the same way Dragon is to Luffy; like ya, maybe he's not a *bad* father but he sure as shit didn't do much to raise him and it reflects in that Luffy doesn't give a shit about him or thinks of him...
He kinda did abandon them though. Or at the very least, he was absent in their lives and they had to deal with differing kinds of ostracization from the people of Elbaf whenever he wasn't around to play chaperone.
I mean one of his kids literally tried to kill himself because he felt lonely...
I have so many questions about Whitebeard's knowledge of Blackbeard before welcoming him onto his crew. Did he know he was his former captain's son? If he did, was he similar enough to Xebec that it made WB hesitate to take him on (i.e he knew he was a cunning backstabber type)? If he didn't...
