I finally caught up on the manga... I'm curious about what the Gods are and how they are related to the ranking system. Is it possible that they are old #1's? Maybe the kings that give something up end up with new/altered abilities. Everything with the shadows and Geslan was dark. But now that...

During the break, I watched Samurai Champloo. I'm not really a fan of the slice-of-life episodes, but the ones that added to the plot were very good. The fight choreography was excellent, and the conclusion was very satisfying. I recommend it!

This was a good setup episode, and a nice place to start this next part. I especially liked the scene with Shunsui and Ichigo's friends--it felt quite ominous. Bring on the fights!

Another one that I thought of that isn't so much dropped as a plot point, but is more obsolete, is kairoseki. I wish it had been used more/in more ways. Usopp using it as shrapnel would have been amazing.
