The only way I could see it actually happening is if the WG gets seriously desperate by the end of the war. It wouldn't be a conventional recruit but if there's convincing enough context and character work it could work.
I was fine with Lucci coming back exponentially stronger, and I would be genuinely happy with Doffy coming back both stronger and as a newly-recruited member of the Holy Knights.
All of the BB pirates, even if some of them are still goofy-looking, scream menace and commit to the criminal aesthetic. Been in love with those designs since I first saw them.
I’m obviously with you on not needing excessive amounts of chapters to tell a good story, but I can’t blame anyone for thinking this way when most arcs have ran for 50+ chapters Post-Timeskip. Zou and Reverie are the exceptions, but even something like Punk Hazard that should’ve been a quick...
Reading One Piece like it solely exists as a team sport that revolves around interpreting vague indicators of fictional strength in relation to one another is genuinely psychotic behavior. I would hope that most powerscalers are capable of enjoying the story outside of that context.
Man, I’d just be happy with the bare minimum of Usopp getting to directly use observation again. I’m not expecting character development or any significant focus.
2 fights, not five. Two fights not counting Mihawk, which would be Shiryu and Nusjuro. There’s a period in there, my bad
The only two arcs left that I’m sure are happening are Laugh Tale and the final war. So wherever the BB crew is dealt with definitively, wherever the Gorosei are dealt with...
There’s absolutely no way it will please everyone. It’s just not possible with OP’s massive readership and the decades-long build. The best I can hope for is that it’s satisfying enough for me.
Zoro likely has two actual fights left before eos not counting Mihawk. Shiryu and Nusjuro, and I don’t think either of them are happening this arc. So he probably isn’t getting any significant improvements in Elbaf specifically.
That is also how I've always interpreted it. A hatsu is a developed ability and Meruem seemed to be coasting by on raw physicals and supernatural nen affinity as opposed to developing any techniques. He didn't have use for anything more specific than what he already had.
Doffy for all three. He's easily my favorite antagonist in the series and he excelled in every category. Cool characterization, great backstory, interesting crew. Dude carried one of the longest arcs in the series with his presence alone.
I think Wano would’ve been an appropriate time to return to that formula (and in some ways it made an attempt to) but I agree, people just assume that the Strawhats will get focused 1v1s in (current arc) because of recency bias. They just went through the series and caught up, so obviously Oda...
With interludes like Egghead had plus more factions arriving on Elbaf I could easily see it surpassing 100+ chapters. Egghead had at least 25 chapters added to its length just because of the cutaways to other parts of the world and I got the vibe that Oda's going to keep those around for the...
I think we're seeing a lot of them now since Imu's DF is likely a mythical zoan and Oda wants to establish it as something the highest caste of the WG has an affinity for. Mythical Zoans being the rarest in the world could be because the CDs are so intent on hoarding them for themselves. A few...
