Can't really be helped though. Having these long drawn-out battles isn't really viable for Hara anymore.
The good thing though is that these shorter battles are more palatable on re-read. You get something much more concentrated like Hango.
I was pleasantly surprised while reading this. Shin's near death didn't really feel contrived and actually makes sense when you consider who he's up against.
Similarly, the Han trio being given some hype is necessary. RAK is growing on me more every week.
Probably a good few years. For them to repel Wei and Zhao's invasions on multiple occasions and then to become famous for it must have taken quite some time.
I think this issue could have been solved by making RAK a bit more comparable to someone like Kouchou. A decent GG who was assigned to defend the capital.
Hara could have simply given him a similar type of description before the battle started, something like he was a 'fierce general who...
I think Hara just sacrificed some of the continuity for the sake of hyping up these two.
Literally no previous battles with either RAK or HKK has ever been referenced up to this point despite various other (pre-story) battles like Chouhei have or Renpa and Kyou En mentioning which of the 6 GG...

Shin does compare Yoko Yoko to Gaimou but these are fast translations though
Chapter is alright. The conversation is finally over and we'll be jumping back to action.
Thankfully this wasn't some sort of hostage situation to circumvent the battle from taking place.
Art style this week was decent too.
Besides, next week we should be getting a colour spread.
Admittedly this feels like an excuse not to have a final siege or some post battle action. Hara is really speedrunning through the story at this point.
I'd give the edge to Riboku though, their tactics on Shukai were similar but Riboku's were a tad bit better; slaying Makou directly as as opposed to sending a detachment unit, masterminding Akou's near death and the quality of his pincer against Ousen.
Hara has become way too apathetic with writing these invasions.
There’s likely only going to be one battle in the entirety of this Han conquest which is just a head-to-head clash.
At this point it feels like Hara has reduced the story to the bare minimum, just giving us two GG caliber figures...
