I think that Mihawk just not having good skills as a leader is why he wasn't able to be the pirate king. It requires more than just strength. You can't be the pirate king without a crew Maybe. I'm just making guesses here

It's sorta implied that Mihawk was betrayed back in the day. Maybe that's how he lost his crew and he just never got over it

Most likely, Mihawk lacks the ability to lead others. He has all the strength you could ask for, but you can't become the Pirate King with strength alone. You need to be a capable leader who can spearhead a loyal crew of likeminded adventurers. Mihawk is a loner who lived with a bunch of baboons...

That makes me reconsider what Mihawk said at Marineford Mihawk has all the strength someone could ask for, but he lacks the other qualities that you need to become the pirate king. Would explain why he thinks Luffy's ability to make allies is so dangerous

Personally I think the series will end with a duel between the Strawhats and the Blackbeard Pirates on Laugh Tale :lunazing:

Honestly after this last chapter I'm pretty on board with it. It isn't just a gag at this point; Buggy really does have the ambition to reach the top.

Probably Blackbeard Though I can see Buggy arriving on Laugh Tale after Luffy and Blackbeard, finding out that the One Piece wasn't the treasure he was expecting, and then going on his way as a pirate

Hancock needs to join an Emperor Crew in order to keep Amazon Lily safe. Joining the Cross Guild puts her in a position where she can be on equal standing to Buggy/Croc/Mihawk
