i don't like to see my boy Oden beeing downplayed that bad tho. If anything, in his prime he gets beaten at worst in High Diff by roger, extreme diff at best.
Death of Kinemon trying a last attack in group, while luffy is reaching the roof and saw it at the last moment.
By luck, most SH reach the top too, and Law and kidd with a badass old memory stare.
Revelation of the D in a teasing way - so not so much said - / Finding of the Road stone by robin...
Where? The sole moment Kaido was in base form was when he knew the trick worked and Oden didn't cared about the fight - nor could he, he was focused on saving what he believed was his son. How could he even do something? It's was not a fight anymore.
And 9 men, powered up due to the raid attack...
it's all about narrator intention imo : When you don't have the full picture of something in a manga, especially a shonen, all you can do is make primitive conclusions given what the narrator/author wanted to show us :
What we saw ?
Oden owning Kaido in dragon form, despite 9vs1k and minus a...
Let's be honest, there were only 2 panels or so of the fight between Oden and Kaido, with another one from Oda saying that the fight LASTED MUCH longer than any expectation because of Oden, so if anything, the panels that Oda showed us where the HIGHLIGHTS of their long fight...
As i said, if Kaido could die due to the sea, he wouldn't get such portrayal of a guy wanting to die but couldn't be able to. Or Oda has to pay the toll of the coherence.
This is exactly the natural conclusion to get from Oda's narrative. If Kaido was stronger, he wouldn't need 5k men to beat 9 men - with a snitch in it -, to know where and when Oden will attack to prepare for it the best way possible - the complete opposite of this current raid -, wouldn't be...
How do you know he couldn't? All the flashback was about praising Oden, and even when he fought Kaido, kaido has to rely on 5k men, a snitch among the few men of Oden, and a trick. And before the trick, the narrator - Oda - was saying how much despite all the preparation, Oden was incredible and...
if he is, he has to kill by himself without external help, Kaido. I will even forget the 9 vs 5k men + snitch disadvantage that had Oden and still was going for the kill without the trick.
If he does, i would consider him stronger than Oden, that's it.

that's fine, so everyone can...
This is fine, the narrative of the arc shows that Zoro won't be above Oden in wano, nor will luffy - because if luffy beats Kaido it won't be in a 1v1, with only 9 men vs 5k. People do understimate too much Oden while Oda wanks him everytime he can. Mihawk is below him factually, a black sword...
To be above Oden he has to at the very least kill by his own Kaido - without external help, and in inferiority in numbers as was Oden who was going for the kill and was tricked before it to happen. He won't have this amount of power till EOS.
Mihawk couldn't do it ever either.
Oden was top 5 in...
No joke? EOS Zoro will be top 3 strongest characters alive more or less.
But, this has nothing to do with the current verse, nor to the debate of mihawk vs oden.
There is something that sword fanboys can't understand : Even if you'r a swordman, your whole value as a fighter is not always to be reduced as a mere swordman that only can use his sword with at best armament haki in it.
This is because it's more than likely that never zoro will learn top tier...
