My least favourite was probably Zeus, because it was the first time when Nami defeated a character without relying on her brains.
My favourite was Enma, because it required lots of training and fortitude to be tamed. It felt the most "earned."
Kaido who fought Oden considers him to be in the same league as Shanks, Roger, Whitebeard, and Xebec, so it's safe to say he truly was that strong, and would have won if he wasn't distracted.
You people do realize Oda is the author, right? If Oden is highly regarded in the manga for his strength, it's because the author wants you to know that he is strong. Not that the author is a fanboy for a character who is much weaker than they are portrayed to be.
They served their purpose in the Pre-TS by showing exactly what you said, and they also served their purpose in the Post-TS by demonstrating how ruthless the New World is in comparison to paradise. You either beat an Emperor or you join one.
He's already a been portrayed as a neutral character. He does good for his friends but is ruthless to anyone who waves a pirate flag. His whole character is about maintaining balance.
What makes Mihawk stand out is that he has the title of the strongest swordsman. We don't even know his fighting style so it's weird to make assumptions about how generic he will be.
advcoc users have an edge over others in combat but yes they are comparable on a general level. Blackbeard has multiple fruits he's an exception not an example of the rule.
