In some ways Sandoq is a sort of amped up "parallel" of the Hound.
- Both are huge men, with Sandoq being being maybe even bigger, who acted as bodyguards.
- Both have disfigured faces but Sandoq's case is so bad that he covers it.
- Sandoq/Sandor
- Both are described to be savage but Sandoq...
@RayanOO Alright, how do you think the Mountain vs Sandoq goes? I can think of Gregor having the strenght advantage (but not significantly so) and maybe the reach advantage?
But I think that's nowhere near enough to make him win there.
One thing I kinda wonder...
Does Ned have a tiny bit of a mysterious/sometimes-wondered-on reputation as a warrior on the eyes of a part of the seven kingdoms?
In the first book, some servants on the castle were talking about how the young lord (Ned) had slain Arthur Dayne in single combat...
At the end of the day, the absolute top knights are pretty relative and it might just come down to one having the superior weapon (Valyrian) or simply having the better day. Also Barristan said something to this effect. Tourneys like this ones are fun but Asoiaf's "who would win 1v1" are rock...
Today I feel like saying this: Daemon Blackfyre at his best was indeed even better than Aemon the Dragonknight.
Aside from being better than Ulrick Dayne with Dawn and better than Gwayne Corbray with Lady Forlom.
:finally:
Prime Jaime considers the Hound a tough match and Prime Barristan ~ Prime Jaime. No way he can focus even on someone else while he's taking on the Hound.
I wouldn't even give him that. Superior outright, I mean. Sandoq basically is the only other guy aside from the Mountain to fight with a great sword in one hand and shield in the other.
Now Robert fought with that warhammer sure and that takes crazy strenght, but from Jaime's thoughts and...
HYPE!!
Prime Robert Baratheon was an extremely fierce warrior, crushing people with his warhammer but this time around...he faces THIS BEAST.
Sandoq the fookin' Shadow. This MONSTER, nearly 7 feet tall, carrying a Valyrian great blade with one hand and great skill, a 100 victories to his name...
I wonder if we have underestimated Brienne in this tourney. She is as tall as Robert (and makes the cut as some of the people stronger than Jaime) and she actually was Martin's third choice in a trial by combat.
She should give a tough match to pretty much anybody.
Is Sandoq about to have the most legendary run ever in the history of Asoiaf tourneys on the internet?:noo:
Alright, I'll say: it's possible that Sandoq, with his size and strenght, ability to carry a great sword with one hand as easily as the Moutain (and a Valyrian blade at that), mobility...
