Idk, if Robert just always used something that heavy with only one hand, it would arguably make him the second fighter most reliant on brute strenght after the Mountain. Agility definitely wouldn't have been his forte. Which, make no mistake, was good enough to make him one of the best of the...
I think Oberyn has his chances to win this one but I will ultimately say Robert as well.
I would say prime Bobby B is only behind prime Dayne, Barristan and Jaime as far as warriors of the Aerys/Robert era. Basically the deadliest kingsguards. Ned called him peerles & fiercest warrior of the...
Robert definitely was using both hands for the warhammer lol. His weapon was so heavy that "Ned could barely lift it". Then imagine swing it lol. Even just with the great swords, everyone aside from the Mountain and Sandoq uses two hands. And Robert is on that Hound/Greatjon lv strenght.
So...
@Elder Lee Hung All these guardsmen had lances too. Oberyn with a lance was keeping Gregor and his greatsword out of range. This was a complete non point against Sandoq, who slided through these soldiers.
Now the individual guard ain't Oberyn, but still. Lol.
I agree with you but anybody who faces Sandoq is probably getting into the toughest match of his life. What would Jaime have thought of Sandoq? Lol.
At least Sandoq is in that high top tier range.
Hey, maybe Barristan does beat Sandoq. Is Sandoq getting somewhat overrated? Maybe. But I don't think so.
In Asoiaf the Mountain is considered a terror within Westeros...and I think Sandoq would be perfectly capable of handling someone like that. I don't even know how much of a real challenge...
Aight, let's put the respect where it's due. Prime Barristan the Bold is one of the baddest mofos in the story. Equal to Dayne without Dawn, amongst his many accomplishments he slew Maelys the Monstrous, a man of terrifying strenght who once killed a horse with a punch. He rescued the king...
Alright, something I found out right now upon rereading on Sandoq. In the text his Valyrian curved blade is referred to as "great curved sword" (two times) and "great sword". But Sandoq also used a shield in bridge fight.
@Elder Lee Hung @Bullet So wait...Sandoq could wield an actual great...
It's just so difficult to argue against Arthur in general lol. When you've got someone who has been directly called > Barristan the Bold if he's full power (Dawn) and who Martin picks first for a trial by combat, the best warrior of the Aerys era (and still better than anyone in the Asoiaf...
Jaime is by far and away one of the most wanked fighters in Asoiaf history:
- A fighter as good as Brienne believed no one in the seven kingdoms could have stood against him at full strenght.
- Like I said earlier, Jaime wanks tf out of Arthur and still believes that he can beat him with his...
Arthur was the best warrior during Aerys' reign and Robert's rebellion, Jaime is the best warrior during Asoiaf until he loses his hand. Both are wanked like crazy by Martin.
But yeah, Arthur would win a tough match. Equally as good as Jaime as a warrior and carrying Dawn on top of it. Dawn...
