I like to think that the OG ones were somehow good intentioned, and got corrupted over time but I fear that Oda’s allergy to nuances and low opinion of his reader’s intelligence will take over again, turning this potential interesting development into the usual cheesy, iperbolic and lazy caricature.
The second one in these picture is the guy who ruled both Spain and the Holy Roman Empire and turned the first into the major European power of his time.

The best twist aren’t the most shocking, but those that makes one see the story in an entire different way, that, in a way, recroactively « rewrite » it. Thus Eren’s twist blows everything else out of the water.
