This article has a good breakdown of how One Piece is doing in its debut.
That's a good performance, not a viral sensation like Wednesday or the latest Stranger Things season but a solid showing. It helps that One Piece has solid reviews and positive WOM that will only grow in the second week.
I think my favorite scene of the show had to be Garp and Zeff chatting over dinner, an old gen former-pirate and marine having a civil conversation was like that just amazing. :myman:
Garp clearly uses observation haki to dodge Luffy's punch in episode 8, they don't explicitly name it because at this point in the story haki wasn't a thing that was explained. Armament haki doesn't even come into play in a significant capacity until Sabaody.
It's funny, before the show came...
I really enjoyed it! The cast embodies the characters so well and the changes the writers do make to the story feel natural like Garp pursuing Luffy through the East Blue.
I’m curious to see how the regular viewer who is a non-OP fan takes the show.
The fact that Kaku in a full body cast was able to strike fear into Sanji enough that he immediately used the DF nullifying bubble gun says a lot about Sanji.
Bogard's gonna have more of a presence in this Netflix adaption than the actual manga. Please Oda do something with this character I beg of you.
:josad:
Koby didn't simply drive his punch through Pizarro's hand, he instead elicits a shockwave just like Garp's Galaxy Impact that damages all the way through Pizarro's island hand to himself. It looks more like CoC to me than CoA because its infusion.
I liked the trailer for the most part, the only thing stood out to me was Arlong. His make-up and voice wasn't doing it for me.
Hopefully the final show is good and gets new people aboard One Piece, like Oda says this is his last chance for the series to hit it big worldwide.
