Another one that I thought of that isn't so much dropped as a plot point, but is more obsolete, is kairoseki. I wish it had been used more/in more ways. Usopp using it as shrapnel would have been amazing.

Zoro being able to defeat an opponent that can turn completely invisible will show that his COO (and Breath of all Things?) is top-notch. If Zoro ends up not fighting Mihawk after all of these years, then what's the point of Mihawk existing as a character?

Crocodile is definitely Buggy's business RHM. He also seems to more actively involved in running Cross Guild than Mihawk, so you may be right.
