As an aside, I feel like seastone has been really underutilized. You would think at least the WG would use it as bullets/shrapnel/etc., or you would hear about it more as something on the black market.

This makes me wonder--was the Yami DF ever considered as an alternative/counter to the Nika fruit? Since the WG had such trouble even getting ahold of the Nika DF, it could have been a way to hedge their bets in case someone else got it and could fully utilize it. Of course, that would only work...

This is an excellent point--Luffy will be resistant to both darkness and earthquakes. It'll be interesting to see if Teach gets a zoan ability. At this point, would Teach be able to defend against Nika Luffy?

It might be that it feels slightly different, but is still recognizable. They all have sweatdrops as well, so it must be far more intense than before.
