shalom, gang
pretty much what the title says
the giant robot is called "Emeth," i don't follow lorepiece but i'm sure all the youtubers have already pointed out that this is the hebrew word for "truth," and more importantly, the activation phrase written on the forehead of golems in jewish...
Oda fell into the classic shonen trap of writing a power with some "I can only use x times per day!" or "it makes me really tired!" limitation to create a little fake tension in a fight. Only issue is he did this like five minutes before dropping Luffy in an arc where he needs to use it...
Probably a consequence of him selling a lot of merch. Law's a decent character but his nonsensical & absurdly good power was a huge misstep. Could've had all the straw hats fight big mom instead of Law & Kid offing her.
I understand this technique but it didn't look (to me, anyway) like that was what was being done with that mustache.
The mustache actually looks much cleaner in the official scan so I'll gladly admit I'm wrong on that one.
I'll concede that wobbly lines in smaller panels and bg characters isn't strong evidence for AI, but that's not what got me looking either. Stuff like this is more of a tell:
The white outline around the mustache here is pretty unnatural, something that can result from an AI trying to convert...
All of the above. The pistols in the second image are pretty glaring, it looks like an AI struggling to interpret the overlapping lines of the muzzle and the flash in an underlying sketch. I'm not sure it's physically possible for a person to draw a gun like that.
Also some of the quivering...
To preface, this is not a thread where I cherrypick tiny parts of panels to dunk on Oda for bad art.
I was struggling to make sense of what I saw in some of the background elements of these panels. I know some of the recent chapters are undercooked, but those chapters don't look like this. This...
Right I don't think that's necessarily true, but the point stands that whatever process created them skipped rubber but still went with "washing-machine human"
You're telling me nobody in history ever imagined a guy made of rubber?
We've already seen that mythical zoans can have redundant powers with existing fruits, e.g. Catarina's stupid fox fruit works exactly the same as Bon Clay's transformation power.
You're telling me nobody ever imagined a...
I think Vegapunk is clearly saying that the power a fruit carries does not need to have actually existed prior.
Whether the fruits are a literal manifestation of people's wishes, or an ancient technology, mythical zoans can be based on things that don't actually exist.
Or maybe a 500-foot tall...
whole point of water 7 was that the WG doesn't have the pluton and wants the blueprints badly. unlikely they know about the existing, stashed pluton, as the nefertaris kept their poneglyph a secret from the WG.
they might have some poseidon equivalent since they either don't know about...
