He was beating marine officials and fighting the Whitebeard Pirates at ~13 years old. Shanks was considered a prodigy already, even among the Roger Pirates, and was clearly aligned to Roger. It was something of note, especially when the Roger Pirates didn't kill that particular group of marines...
This is pure bs IMO. They did nothing to the Donquixotes still in Mary Geoise and Doffy was still a child when he left, he had no choice much like Shanks. In addition, if they've paid any attention to the Roger Pirates (and they should), they would see that Shanks was fully aligned with Roger...
Shanks wasn't kidnapped, he was lost (Dragon couldn't make off with him). In the end, he ended up with the "worst pirate crew" at the time, it's still an impressive thing that the CDs not only accepted him back but he also became a HK.
Doffy wasn't his father and did something incredible to...
As long as Oda wants. It'll last until he doesn't need the hype anymore, just like it happened with haki ("haki transcends all", except Joy Boy's and Imu's DF powers).
I think that she could be. We already know about two cases of Celestial Dragons abandoning Mary Geoise and going to the lower world (Homing and Shanks), and one of them was a HK. Afterwards, for some reason the WG could've killed Candel and her former family (the Manmayers) took Gunko back to...
IMO, these are the strawhats' biggest fears:
Luffy — Losing his nakama;
Zoro — Failing or losing his honor as a swordsman (by extension, being too weak to protect his nakamas too, since he sacrificied his pride to help Luffy to achieve his dream);
Sanji — He has shown some fears: arachnophobia...
I still enjoy it. Definitely way less than before, but it's still worth it IMO. Ofc, I don't invest too much time on it... it's basically a few posts on forums, sometimes reading spoilers and reading the weekly (or semiweekly) chapter. It's totally fine for me.
Yeah, Marco is clearly based on Marco Polo, the medieval venetian adventurer. "Polo" is Gram's surname, so, if he's Marco's father, Marco would be "Polo Marco" (or Marco Polo, if we use the romanized version).
I feel that Lodestar is the "entrance" to Laugh Tale (or the old entrance to the "Great Kingdom" of the Void Century). After Vegapunk revealed that the sea level already rose up by 200 meters in the past, it's plausible to think that the "Great Kingdom" was a much bigger landmass than anyone...
Surely. The Marines had to do a World Military Draft after the losses in Marineford and Sengoku's and Aokiji's resignations. WB's territories were seized by many pirates, both great (e.g.: Big Mom took over FI) and lesser ones (e.g.: Brownbeard immediately tried to seize Foodvalten). Kaido tried...
Maybe they only cared when the fruit was awakened? There are so many DFs out there, why couldn't the "limb stretching guy" be someone with Katakuri's DF (Mochi Mochi no Mi)? He can do pretty much the same. Hana Hana no Mi also could generate a similar effect, for example. And there may be even...
It seems weird indeed, but it doesn't seem that this knowledge is really that accessible. Yes, everyone knows the history of WG's foundation, everyone knows that there were 20 kings, but their surnames actually seem to be in a fog. Out of the plebs, nobody besides Ivankov, who probably has the...
Oda sometimes forgets about things, but I don't think that he'll brush aside that Mary Geoise is under attack (chapters #1140 and #1149). That's why Shamrock returned in the first place... the rest of the HKs are probably with their hands full.
Blackbeard is the best One Piece villain indeed. He's actually the most faithful pirate the series has:
Pirates plunder, murder, rape and do all kinds of atrocious things;
Pirates might ally with the government if it's advantageous for them;
Pirates usually don't fight their enemies directly...
The thing is, they didn't have a shared goal. I mean, Big Mom surely wanted to be "PK" and create her utopia where all the races of the world could live together, but I don't think that she would be able to defeat her final roadblock, which was Kaido (I feel that she would probably go down...
I think that Doffy suffers from the "early villain syndrome". His arc isn't that old for him to be considered a complete bum, but he's far enough to be moderately underrated (btw, Dressrosa ended more than 10 years ago... time flies). Obviously, there are characters who received far worse...
