You have seen how well-treated Kaido and especially Big Mom were in regards of their portrayal. And Blackbeard already had been goofed before the timeskip many times, and yet this is nothing compared to the clowning and shit treatment Big Mom received.

Coby isn't that important to them. He's very strong for his rank and have some reputation but he's not that big or important as an asset to the Marines and WG this far. And the WG has already shown how they deal with disasters, far worse than Coby being captured, and they were willing to cover...

In regards to the Pacifista, Luffy dealt with the original ones, not the new who are said to be far more formidable. And you have to remember how easily Blackbeard, and so many OP characters, get distracted and lower their guard.

Losing Coby won't be such a blow to their reputation, when they have suffered far worse over these last two years, and can easily cover it up. And Coby is nowhere near as legendary and prestigious as Garp yet.

Not a fan of this chapter, but seeing Blackbeard owning Hancock was quite satisfying after behaving like an annoying royal brat for so long and for having openly helped Luffy and attacked marines so many times without suffering any consequences for it.
